800
Consensus is 2 lines?
@WiscoPounce nope. it’s three. the two x-asymptotes as well as the horizontal asymptote of y=0
i have a question, i answered 49 (basically omit 1) and i may have gotten 3-5/6 wrong. can i still get an 800?
@michelle426 theres no asymptote at y=0, (0,0) is a valid solution so theres no asymptote
@michelle426 Yeah cut off usually 43? Depends though, won’t know till scores come out
@pillowspillows no, try plugging in a large number (like 1000) and you’ll see that the graph approaches 0. sometimes graphs can cross horizontal asymptotes (but never vertical), but then that means that that’s not an answer frickle frackle
if i missed like 3 and skipped 4 or 5 can i still get an 800? Or is your score based solely off of how many you got right rather than how many you got wrong?
do any of these #s ring a bell?
6.( ) for a triangle ?
.28 for a surface area ?
40 something for a flagpole ?
@mat324 no, usually cutoff is 44-47. if you omitted say, 4, then the score breakdown with a minimum of 3 wrong is 43-3/4= 42.75 ~ 43. it’s very rare that the cutoff is 43, especially because this test was “easier” than the previous two, the curve might be slightly more brutal.
@michelle426 yes, the function approaches y=0 for large values of x; when x=0, however, y=0. So y=0 and the function intersect right?
@WiscoPounce yes, did you not read my previous reply regarding that question? i acknowledged that the horizontal asymptote is y=0, but it is not a solution.
If I know for sure that I missed 7 with no omits, you guys said I could get like a 780. However what’s the score range that I can expect assuming I make other careless mistakes?
Is it possible to study for SAT Subject Test Math 2 without a calculator? I haven’t gotten my Ti-89 yet, it’s pretty expensive.
Study? Maybe. Take it? Nah you’ll definitely need one, theres a bunch of stuff that needs/are easier with a calculator, especially since its really rushed on time
@Hamlin this is literally a test to see how in sync you are with your calculator
@Yakisoba if you missed 7, then your raw score would be 43-7/4= 41.25~ 41. http://www.sparknotes.com/testprep/books/sat2/math2c/chapter2section4.rhtml this link shows the AVERAGE curve set for a math sat. know that this can vary, but based on this table and others, you will most likely be able to score 770-780.
Thanks. Really hoping I didn’t miss any more than that
What was the answer to the quadrant question?
IV.
