Official SAT Subject Test - Math Level 2 - June 2015

who has the link

@jruesmith the link is on the previous page of this thread

For the up to 20 question, when I plugged in 6.44 I got 19.98, but when I plugged in 6.08 or something I got 20.00. Shouldn’t 6.08 be right as 19.98 is technically not 20 even when it was rounded to 2 decimal places.

What about the question “which of the following equations is symmetric to the origin”?

(x+1)^3 wasn’t, the other 2 choices were. 1 was sqrt(25-x^2) and another one was 1/x.

@mathpro I didn’t take this test, but I would assume symmetry to the origin means an odd function, aka one that literally is symmetric across the y and x axis. Thus, any odd function will do. For example, x+5. x^3+1. x^5+33 1/x

I think I missed 5 overall. Is it possible to still get an 800?

@mathpro the two answers were 1/x and some circle equation

what did people say for symmetry about the origin? just the square root one or also the 1/x

Alright. So, with 45/50 correct, can I still get an 800?

@mathpro if that’s 45/50 raw score then yes.

Thanks rdeng2614!

What does it mean to be symmetric about the origin?
Actually I looked it up and 1/x appears to be right, but sqrt(25-x^2) doesn’t seem to be.
Symmetric about the origin means if you replace x with -x and y with -x, it’s still the same equation.

@rdeng2614 sqrt(25-x^2) actually wasn’t, since it is only a semicircle, right? Only a full circle would be symmetrical about the origin.

As for the other question, 6.44 was a rounded up number, I plugged in 6.438 and got 19.999, so I just assumed that was the answer, and 6.08 just so happened to be a non-rounded number.

the only function that was symmetric about the origin was y=1/x.

Do u guys remember what the cos(pi-theta) question was? I know the answe was 153 but what’s the question?
Also, all the websites I’ve seen say that 43 raw score is generally 800.

What can I get with 8-10 wrong, no omit? Freaking out here

@Yakisoba about 750-770
guys please answer my questions.
is 43 raw score still 800? because most websites I’ve seen says that, also whats the question with the answer of 153

Yeah, probably.

The question told us that the angle was between 90 and 270, I think.

@puppylove97 The square root creates a semicircle, so that’s definitely not one of them.
