@Hanlin I’m shooting for a 750+.
@MrAustere Allow me to reiterate myself.
If you’re in a high 600’s range or more preferably 700’s proximity shooting for 770+ then Dr.Chungs would be more ideal. (Assuming you’ve taken the test)
If you’ve never taken the SAT 2 and are completely oblivious to the questions in the exam, Barron’s would be a better choice.
They’re both good but Dr.Chungs is more difficult and meant for practicing to gain 800’s.
@marie122 UT Austen does not require subject tests, but uses them for placement if you do submit them. They are also not required for A&M.
@Hamlin Thanks
@MrAustere so if I get a good score on even one of them then it would help me with admissions?
@maire122 I’m not sure. It depends on when you submit them. If you submit them after you’ve been accepted they would be for placement. If you submit them before you’re accepted they may or may not consider the scores.
@marie122 Good scores are subjective, I’m certain that every college would look at a “good score” with a half/smile , as I can’t think of one that wouldn’t appreciate a student showing proof of academic competence toward the specific subject that they may be passionate about. It may certainly help you get admitted. However, if you send 3 scores and two of which are high 400-500’s and one is a 700. Then that might harm you more than anything else. Make sure to send good scores and hide the bad ones! A small quantity of colleges use SAT Subject Test for advanced placement but I wouldn’t see why not, good luck!
Who is this Dr Chung and why does everybody love him? I’ve never heard of him and I did fine on the Math II exam…
thanks @Hamlin !!
Dr.Chung is love, Dr.Chung us life.
I didn’t actually use his book either.
Wow, I called collegeboard today to make sure they received my cancellation form and the representative there told me that they can’t tell me until Tuesday of next week.
What’s the point of checking this next week if the cancellation is due midnight today?
There are a few others - Penn and Cornell come to mind. But otherwise, 750+ is an excellent score.
Okay guys I want to know my score…I skipped around six and got atleast 3 wrong.( I skip a lot of I’m unsure of the answer instead of just guessing) what type of score am I looking at.
@elmstreetking 6 skip and 3 wrong would be around a 770 or 760, each question you miss after 3 wrong would be either 10 or 20 points less (10 points for -1, but missing a question is technically a -1.25 from your raw score).
How do you all think you did?
what was the answer to the question where a function was given and it asked how many lines intersect each other
was it infintely many
@bunnyhello Are you talking about the one that asked how many lines can be drawn without intersecting the function? The answer was 2 to that question, I believe.
yes. that only. please explain how
@bunnyhello I don’t recall whether the question gave the function, but I do remember that the graph of the function had two asymptotes. The two lines would simply be those two asymptotes.
Technically, it has 3 asymptotes, 2 vertical and 1 horizontal, but the horizontal one cuts the graph at (0, 0), thus isn’t counted, so the answer is 2.
