for the figthing scientists,
did u guys get "it'll weaken scientist 2" for two questions?
because I thought the first scientist didn't even mention about human.

If I am not mistaken...

sinx(1 - cosx) = sinx

sinx(1 - cosx)/sinx = sinx/sinx

1 - cosx = 1

1 = cosx + 1

0 = cosx

x = pi/2, 3pi/2

I could totally be wrong though :).

And yeah, I went into the ACT with a lot more confidence than I came out of it with. I had taken the practice test on the ACT site before going in with a 36-36-36-31 breakdown, but I thought both the English and Reading were tougher on today's test than I had expected. The Science portion wasn't easy, either, but at least I finished it. I also blindly guessed on one of the Reading questions, and I was not too happy about running out of time on that section (the science passage killed me). I'm hoping for a 35-36-34-33, but I dunno if I'll get it. We'll see.

As a side note, I thought the essay went well, but I erased about half of a sentence in hopes of rephrasing it right before time was called, and thus I turned in my answer sheet with a two inch blank gap on one of the lines. I am hoping my essay score isn't murdered for this error in judgement on my part (I thought the rest of my essay was pretty solid), but has anyone else had this happen to them? If so, what became of it?

JSB, that was exactly what i did, but was thrown off by the domain beliving it was x has to be less than than or equal to 180.

Dream - yes for both

JSB - manual math is all good fun, but it's different from the calculator results. :D So I'll go with the calculator answer - but I'd try graphing both and finding the intersections to confirm or deny your answer.

The domain was [0, 2pi], but in retrospect, I was wrong; by dividing out sinx you lose solutions...

Thus, I am pretty sure I missed that one. :(

U cannot divide by sin. Doing so gets rid of two answers, because it is assuming that sin x cannot equal zero. And hence, you get rid of the answer 0 and pi, because sin 0 and sin pi both equal zero.

question 1: what is the total number of people who took the september test?
question 2: did i have a different version because my trig question had sinx(1-cosx)-sinx?

Yeah, error on my part :(. Byebye 36 in math!

You may have had a different one but it sounds like you may have read it wrong if so many others (including myself) recall it as sinx(1-cosx) = sinx.

wait so what's the answer for the last question?
is it the first one?

sinx(1-cosx) = sinx is the same as sinx (1-cosx) - sin x = 0

sinx(1-cosx) = sinx

and

sinx(1-cosx) - sinx = 0

are the same thing, no?

Also, does anyone remember the actual problem for the tough trig one? I think I got it right, but I'd like to look at it again.

And I missed that question because I thought it was sinx(1-cosx) = 0 since i was doing it at the last second.

JSB - lmao wow I definitely need to get some sleep.

for the englsih section, were the answers for word questions "radiate" and "tread"?

I couldn't decide between radiate and glint but I finally said glint and I bet it's wrong.

And I said tread - I think. What were the other choices?

Those were hard questions - made English much harder than the June one.

OK quick q before I address any other problems; it is OK that we talk about the questions, right? I remember a big deal being made about not discussing multiple choice questions after AP tests, but I don't think we had to sign anything saying we wouldn't discuss ACT questions, right?

lol.. i thought the box and the ribbon question was hard.

Same here, that box and ribbon crap sucked

for that Japanses poetry passage,
were the answers like "understand metaphors and poet's biography" and "comprehensible"?
