I found an answer to madamebovary's question regarding early internet test scores. Here's a link

I picked the first one (0,pi/2,something, something)

i live in missouri and i drove to illinois to take the test.
english was a breeze, i was surprised there were no OMIT questions.
math was average
reading was easy, but the first passage with the garcia girls and mamita etc.. was a little hard
science was average.
hoping for a 33.. my essay was alright prolly a 10/12

"was it [0,pi] ? I graphed it and found the zeros."

No it was 0, Pi/2, Pi, and 3Pi/2

I graphed on a graphing calculator - graph sinx(1-cosx) and then also graph sinx and see where they intersect. That was the solution set.

The site says scores will be available in about 10 days online for around $8? I can't remember but I'm very excited about my results. How do yall think you did?

I got a 32 last time

Math - 31
English - 35
Reading - 34
Science - 28

I'm pretty positive I got at least a 33 (I wasn't racing to finish the science and just putting down answers) and I think overall I'll get a 34. 35 if I'm lucky, but I think that's the last time I'm gonna take it.

BTW, how did you do the one where they had a building and its shadow grew by 100 feet and then you had to determine how tall the building was. I just guessed 46 because I couldn't figure out how to do it.

cos 0 =1. No, i knew the answer to that question but was confused about the domain; I thought is was 0 < x < pi. sighs

yea it was 46.. you damn lucky haha

Ya, i didn't look at the other side of the equation, lmao. Didn't see that it was set equal to sin x. Oh well@@@ That was my last question, rushed it.

Polar one in 2nd quadrant?

guessed on that rascal as well brand.

wait you guys wrote the wrong equation ....
it was on my test, sinx(1-cosx)-sinx

"yea it was 46.. you damn lucky haha"

Lmao. Sweettttt. I really had no idea, just figured that 46 seemed like a practical choice. But how'd you figure it out?

the hardest math question was definitely the top one on the last page.
I don't even remember the question..

I guessed something like x-y.. because there was also x+y. haha

was one of the choices 50? I think i guessed 50.

Hmmm...Excuse me for being paranoid (SAT experiences...), but is there any offical ACT policy for discussing questions now. I took it on West Coast (and it's been a few hours already) so common sense tells me it's alright, but it would be nice to know for sure before I tell everyone all the right answers. :)

P.S. Notice my correct use of the conjunction it's as opposed to the possesive its in the previous paragraph. :)

The one that asked which of these isn't a factor of like 4xb^2 + blah blah

Yeah I had no idea on that. I think there were 4 on the math that I guessed on...but I guess I got one right. :D

What would 3 wrong on the math probly be?

for the ladder one. (x=the length of the first shadow, y=building length)
you set two equstions: tan60= y/(100+x) and tan20=y/x .
and just solve for y. (I'm not sure about the exact numbers)

I got like 73

It wasn't that bad. I got a 26 composite with a 12 on the writing. I believe I got 25's on reading and science, a 27 on math, and a 29 in english. This time though, I believe I did much better. Here's how I felt about each. The english was a bit harder with definite new question types. The math seemed easier, much easier. It seemed like there were more algebra problems than geometry problems, and of course there were those 3 or so trig problems. The reading wasn't so bad, same as always. the science wasn't as bad either. Same old same old. I always feel like I will have done better than the last time, but my scores always end up the same. Let's hope it's different. Here's how I'm hoping I do!

E: 30
M: 28
R: 29
S: 27
Writing: 11 or 12

Thanks for that Dream,

It sounds like exactly what I did...though I'm can't remember what the actual answer was. Do you think that was the easiest way to do it. I tried to think of a shortcut, but figured that I could do it that way before I thought up a shortcut. lol

Dream - wow now I feel dumb. I at least started to set up the tan 70 = x / 100-#. I knew you had to subtract out the variable that you designated for the first earlier triangle, but she called time and I called it quits.

you can tell us the answers.
