If I get this, I will freak out haha

I’m taking it too, I neep some last-minute tips please!

Also, please don’t ask why I waited, it’s a long story and I’d rather not talk about it.

Well First I got a 20 and I’m aiming for something around a 24. Prep tips anyone?

Go out now, and get the Barron’s ACT 36 book. It is unbelievable. I got a 30 on my first ACT using solely that book with a few hours of studying… This was after I decided to take a “break” on the reading section by only doing one passage (I was tired and had over a year before I needed my final ACT score for colleges). If I had actually done the reading section, I would have probably gotten a 32-33.

Keep in mind, though, that this book assumes that you already know some of the basics. Also, get the “Red” book and do at least one of the practice tests in there. You are in a tricky situation since you really have a ton of work that you need to do in a small amount of time. I know that, at least for me, this usually isn’t an issue since I can just stay up all night studying. However, the tricky part is that you also have to be well rested for the test… I am planning on—and recommend—getting at least 8 or so hours.

If this is the last ACT date that you can take for colleges, I would recommend not going to school tomorrow in order to study for it. I left school early today for the same reason.

My advice for the English portion would be to review basic grammar rules! Having them mastered will make you an automatic 30+ in that section…

Also, for test day, make sure you guys bring snacks or candy to eat in the break between the math and reading. The latter 2 sections require a high level of focus!

hope i get a 34 like i have been on practice tests

I got a 31 (cant remember breakdown) on the first one I took. I messed up a lot having never even looked at a practice tests and was confused by questions, thought I was done with a section when I wasn’t, etc.

I have done 0 studying, haha. I spent most my time studying for the SAT, but Im still hoping to do better.

Lol first time since I joined cc that I haven’t been taking the ACT, feels weird. Good luck all!

HELP!
i thought photo was only required starting in October…
on my admission ticket…it says i need a official photo ID (this i know…) and then it also says a “School ID Letter with Photo or Notarized Statement with Photo” (What is this?? do i need it?)

Can’t get the book, it’s kind of too late for that and I know my dad’s not going to pay for it at a time like this, but thanks.

Hey, you guys ever heard of the “in peru they bake chocolate cakes” thing for the writing? Is that really effective in getting a high score?

i=intro
p=position
t=thesis
b=bake
c=counter argument
c=cakes

and I took a practice test on the math online and I only got a 19, when I took the actual test earlier this year in March I got a 23. :’(

I bet it’s because I completely guessed on the geometry stuff, I completely forgot trigonometry and circle/circumference stuff. What’s a good place to recap all that stuff quickly? Just google I surmise?

Well I think I get the trigonometry stuff now (just use sohcahtoa when finding desired line and inverse for desired angle?) now I gotta get the circle stuff down.

jlee98 - check the admission ticket where it says “required for admission”, it states you need ONE of the following forms of ID, and then lists three forms. Current photo ID is sufficient for the Sept test.

Got a 33 my first time (which is great!), but with a 28 in science, I know I can still improve!

I’ve found that attitude plays a huge role. I got that 33 between two SAT sittings, so I was very happy and relaxed on that second SAT… and with no prep, my composite score went up 130 points. Just feel good about it, and it’ll likely pay off! At least, that’s what I’m hoping will happen tomorrow. Best of luck! c:

good luck to you all. All I want is a 30

good luck guys

Good luck everyone!

Hoping for a 30+ shooting for 33/34

Hoping to raise my Science and Math to get myself a 35. It would be awesome if I could get a 36 composite, but we’ll see.

what day, at what time is the earliest we can expect the Sept 2012 ACT results to be posted online?

Good luck tomorrow everyone! :)

Hoping for at least a 30, aiming for a 32!
