Official sept 2012 ACT thread

Vicimus, are you and I the same people?

Haha, sure seems like it… Although I wish we weren’t and I got a really high science score!!

:(

To everyone reading: People like you and me took the test to determine an adequate curve. Everyone did not receive low 20 scores on the Science test. It is likely that the Science score will therefore have a significantly higher curve from previous years.

English: Okay…did moderately…

Math: Very easy

Reading: I had to restrain myself from urging to rip the test booklet…

Science: Very easy

Essay: did relatively good

Also I thought Science was really easy and Reading was killer…

When do we find out our scores exactly? Month proctor didn’t say anything about it! Do we first check them online and then get them in the mail?

*my proctor…stupid blackberry keyboard!

Multiple-Choice Scores First Posted Online

September 24, 2012 – November 2, 2012

It’s usually the first date with a small chance of it being earlier. The later dates are usually for people who incorrectly fill out the personal/test booklet information.

Man, I really need to stop looking at CC after big tests like these. I left the center feeling slightly confident. Now, I feel like I’m not even going to get a 33…

English: 34-36
Math: 35-36
Reading: 33-35
Science:30-32

The circle one on math, i got 22.5…
And the science one wasnt that bad except it is time consuming…
Had to hurry and do the last 6-7 problems so i dont think i had them all

nvm on the circle one is the 30degree

I thought the math and science sections were harder than usual as well… Like way harder… And I thought that reading and english were super easy.

And yes the circle problem is 30 degrees. The diamond was 2 equilateral triangles and since it was split down the middle, it forms a 30-60-90

Btw, does anyone have any predictions on what the curve will be for each section of the test?

Curve:
English: -1 or no curve (easy test)
Math : -2 (m+n=mn problem is still debating)
Reading: -1 or no curve (easy)
Science: -5 (fliping hard)

@stevenlee973 that’s not the curve lol

lolol its a complete guess ignore me at your will hahah

No, I don’t mean that it’s wrong. I mean that it is not what a curve is…

The curve isn’t your prediction of how many you got wrong.

if you want my two cents on the m+n, m*n question, I thought it was 0 since they were distinct integers

lemme reword this…
English: 71-75
Math: 56-60
Reading: 39-40
Science: 35-40

People had been arguing about this… they say distinct pair means (2,2) is an distinct PAIR… i thought the integers has to be distinct like (a,b)… i put 0
