Official Spring 2014 Cornell Transfers Thread

Once I gather all the signatures for my Midterm Report I will mail it by UPS. But but guys I feel like its such a waste sending only a piece of paper…? Should I attach anything else? Maybe handmade gift and fun stuff? jk haha

@MaggieV lol. If you’re sending the mid-term grades by the end of the month, I think USPS would be fine…Unless you live on the west coast or something. And don’t forget FAX! They actually prefer that.

What Jpapas said.
+Brownies. Just Kidding (But I’m sure someone has had to have tried something like that before haha)

And you if you send food then yes, definitely UPS Next Day or Overnight, not normal mail.

Ahahaaa u guys are so funny lol This is why I love Cornell <3 Can’t wait to get my App ID!!

I’m not sure if anyone should fax anything. I say this because when I called Cornell, a representative specifically told me that nothing should be faxed. Your supporting materials should either be sent electronically or by mail. It should also be on the website for the school you’re applying to.

That’s interesting^
I mean instructions for financial aid was to fax right?

The representative said to fax nothing. Then again, you can call for your division to hear whether or not someone says something different.

I don’t know if this is irrelevant, but I’m a student at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) that applied to transfer to Cornell.

Hm perhaps they have changed it around this semester but I doubt it. Last semester they definitely accepted and actually preferred (for time’s sake) to fax some documents over. I’m pretty sure that everyone in the processing center has their own opinion on things. Play it safe and confirm what they have received, if you fax anything.

@Chris00656 Good Luck! Which college are you transferring to?

Thanks, JPAPAS! I will definitely confirm what they have received, whether faxed or not. I’m transferring to Human Ecology. What about you?

Goodluck Chris00656!

College of Arts and Sciences-Philosophy major. Unfortunately, CAS has a brutally low transfer acceptance rate. Does HumEc have any class requirements?

Something you all may like to see, if you haven’t already.

http://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000156.pdf

^Are these including Guaranteed Transfers ?

I am assuming so. It does say “special students not included.” I don’t know what makes students special though.

Haha special student…? bling bling
Thx for the info JPAPAS. Once you figure out which specific area you wanna study, it shouldn’t be hard to find one of the other colleges to apply to other than CAS I guess?Cornell is where “any person can find instruction in any study” right? :P

Yeah thanks for the info.
Whats school are you applying for Maggie?

Thanks, Nostalgia14! Good luck to you too!

JPAPAS, Human Ecology does have requirements. You can find them on the website for that division.

Quick question for anyone: Does Cornell give a magnanimous financial aid award to Spring transfer students?

Well I don’t know about specifically spring transfers, but their website statistics say 100% need based financial aid. I’m guessing that includes transfers as well. Not sure exactly how strictly the word “need” is used though )=
