I found out online a few days ago that I was accepted, and then a packet came in the mail that notified me of the scholarship. Also yesterday I got 24K to umiami! :)

I have gotten into Yale (likely), Harvard (likely), Cal Poly, my state school, and Rose-Hulman so far. I was waitlisted by WashU which is totally lulz-y. I haven’t gotten financial information from any school yet, which could definitely influence my decision. At this point, I’m almost 100% sure that I will either go to Yale or Stanford, meaning that (come March 29th) my decision will be very easy if Stanford doesn’t accept me, or very tough if they do.

@clairebear29 - Congratulations! S didn’t apply to either Harvard or Yale, but you and others with likely letters are certainly in a great position. Again, congratulations!!

My deferredness got a lot better last night with an acceptance to MIT. Hope good things are coming yall’s way as well.

@engineer95 – Congratulations!! Further proof that Stanford only Deferred really strong applicants this year!! :)

Wow engineer95. Congrats, man.

@clairebear29 I’m in a similar predicament, I don’t want to have to choose between MIT and Stanford; I’d view it as saying no to one as opposed to saying yes to one. Also on that comment about Washington U - I got denied from Georgia Tech, i find that pretty “lulz-y” as well.

@aery- why the 29th?! ahh i hope it is… april 1 is so far away!

and my deferredness got a lot better with an acceptance to uchicago.
especially considering they gave me some $, and i wrote my why uchicago essay as an “i like big butts” parody.
pretty much yoloed that.
…and it oddly worked.
AND one of best best friends got in as well.
which is insane chance considering how low their acceptance rate was this year so it ends up really being a gamble.
i’m just in the sky right now. and in the midst of a tech week for a show and piles of hw that senioritis hasn’t caught up to yet. ohdear.

my son’s deferral also got better with acceptance from UChicago on Friday. Considering the low acceptance rate there this year and its high ranking (#4 in US News this year, ABOVE Stanford and MIT!!) we are excited - but still keeping fingers crossed for March 29 (or is it April 1??) for Stanford!!

T-minus 3 days, everyone. swoons

Good luck.

you too!! haha after 5 months i can’t believe we’re actually getting decisions, it doesn’t feel real

The time seems warped; this has been the longest five months of my life, but then looking back, it passed in a blur. It’s bizarre.

It’s scary that the Stanford dream could really end on Friday. I know that wherever I (we) end up, I’ll (we’ll) be happy and love life. It’s still scary, though.

I know it’s so weird, you feel so disconnected from everything! The next 48 hours feel so long and short at the same time. It’s not so much getting rejected that I’m scared of, it’s telling the family about a rejection… even though (like you said) logically everything will be okay :)

Hey guys! Thought I’d check back in… it’s crazy that this will all finally come to an end. I’ve gotten some great results so far and a few disappointments, though only one flat-out rejection out of 11 I’ve heard from to date. I’m not expecting much, but… that dream still glitters.

I’m scared.

I know ): it’s already kind of a miracle that we made it this far

<3 15-20%

alskdfj

Whatever happens, you are among the very few students who can say they were deferred by Stanford this year. At very least you are all strong contenders, with very bright futures, so HUGE congratulations to you all!

Thanks, momcares!! Aery- hahah sums it up perfectly!
