Best wishes to all UPitt and WashU interview candidates.

We are moving on with the next chapter. Review the admissions received for UG, merit aid and which school will provide the best opportunity for premed etc.,

We were told, Univ of California normally inform only by mid-march. But this morning UC Irvine sent email for admission and updated the portal.

Also UC Santa Barbara sent an email to attend (optional) an info session in San Jose, LA, DC and NY for selective students. No idea what that event is all about, but will attend since local event.

Will wait for other UCā€™s applied as in-state resident of CA.

Received admission to UC Berkeley.Total applications received this year: 83,000. I also received invitation to Regentā€™s and Chancellorā€™s Scholarship (full ride).

@HS2DirectMed Congrats on Berkeley with full ride. Is full ride merit based or need based? Did not know that any UC, gives substantial merit scholarship leave alone full tuition or full ride for merit only students (who has not applied FAFSA)? Do you know any other UC has good scholarship amount for merit only? (besides the regent scholarship which every UC gives to the amount of $2.5 to 6k max per year depending on the school). Thanks.

Is anyone received Hofstra interview invite yesterday or today at all ? I read few posts that so many kids received on Friday 12th February & 16 th February Tuesday but I didnā€™t see any post about yesterday or today that they received invite.I email Hofstra to find out about my status & they said if I donā€™t receive any email or phone call by Friday 19 th that means they r not interested to offer me an interview. Looks like all invites are out on Friday & Tuesday. Is anyone has more information about Hofstra interview invites ?

No I emailed them they said if you donā€™t hear by tomorrow (Friday 19th) that means u r not selected for interview. I hope someone else call or email to find out more & post hereā€¦

@goldenrock none of the uc give substantial merit based scholarship for premed students. The only full ride merit one I know is the Jacobs scholar at ucsd for engineering

the first inteview for hofstra isnt until march 9th, so i doubt they would stop sending invites 2 and a half weeks earlyā€¦they only started sending them out last weekā€¦idk

@APScholar18 I called the bsmd director at hofstra and she said wednesday was the last day to send invites. 60 invites were sent out, and 15 will be accepted into the program. i didnā€™t get an interview eitherā€¦honestly at this point i dont understand whats wrong with my app to have gotten so many rejectionsā€¦:frowning:

^ Those numbers seem about right. AFAIK all interview emails were sent by the third week of Feb. last year.

15 attend or 15 are accepted? If 15 are accepted that is a very low ratio.
