Hi to all. I applied to VCU and its Honors College and Guaranteed Medical Program. I admission letter today, but it does not say anything about the Honors College or the Medical Program. Anyone know what is going on?
@adamrocks VCU sends regular undergraduate admission results on a rolling basis. If you applied around November 15th, you should have received a decision by now. The Honors College and GMED program are a separate application process. I talked to an admissions officer for the GMED program and he said that interview notification will go out on the first week of January.
@Dadofhskid When I applied to Case, I do believe that the email with all the information on status check went to junk mail (or âquarantine summaryâ, as Office email does it.) Keep an eye out!
Hi everyone! I am considering applying to Northwestern HPME and Brown PLME, but I was wondering if I have a chance if Iâve never done any hospital volunteering or physician shadowing. My stats are pretty good (2360 superscored SAT, 36 ACT, 770âs on SAT Chem and Bio) and I have okay ECâs (FPS, FRC, NHS, orchestra, and I volunteer at the library). However, my only really medical-related ECâs are HOSA and a year of bio research, since I didnât know about BS/MD programs until this year. I want to know if itâs possible to be accepted into BS/MD programs (especially HPME and PLME) if you lack medical-related ECâs, or if I shouldnât even try. Thank you!
@realisticdreamer those two programs are pretty much the most competitive bs/mds which are already extremely competitive. You seem to have great test scores and im assuming a 4.0 uw gpa so u should be in the running, but dont bank on getting into those schools. there are a lot of people with similar or better stats that also have a ton of ecs. just destroy those essays and good luck!!!
Is Penn State done with sending invitations for the BS/MD program or do they send in batches?
@realisticdreamer For Northwestern, the request to get BS/MD application is over and hence it is ruled out. But Brown you can give it a try. Since you are contemplating for selective 1 or 2, there is nothing wrong in applying for Brown though you may not have a strong activities related to medical. You have a strong academic and other activities including a year of research in bio. You never know! Good luck.
If I have a 35C on ACT and 780 on both Math 2 and Chem, do you think I should send my SAT II scores with my ACT for PLME or just ACT? I donât know if 780 would hurt or help.
@svnya123 The 780 on Math 2 and Chem are really good and would definitely not pull you down. Also, Iâm pretty sure 90% of PLME Programs require SAT IIâs, so you would probably have to submit anyway, unless youâre applying to one that doesnât require them.
@realisticdreamer congratulations on your stellar achievement! But these programs are looking very specifically for people with experience in medicine.
Hi guys. So I applied to Villanova from the common app and marked my interest to the Drexel BS/MD program with Villanova, but I did not get any invite on the mynova portal to write a supplement. Does this mean i did not make it?
@adamrocks did you check your spam mail? Thatâs where I saw mine.
Also to everyone applying to Villanova, what did you all put for the section that asked which science teacher and guidance counselor sending in your letter of reccomendation. Do they mean on commonapp? Because they specifically said to not send them anything in the email.
@tunetheday yes, unfortunately nothing. Did anyone apply to St. Bonaventure Univeristy med and hear anything back?
@adamrocks i applied to SBU and havent heard anything yet either

All: Update on SBU, PSU & TCNJ:
Gave a call to St.Bonaventure, Penn State and TCNJ. SBU has sent email if selected for interview and sent postal mail to students not selected on Friday. So if you have not got a email so far, most likely not selected. My D did not get interview. Penn state informed they will review from now till Feb and will select for interview. So if you have not received the interview invitation, need to wait long to know the result one way or other.
TCNJ, admission office informed it is handled by the Biology dept. But Biology department number goes only to voice mail but voice mail can not take any messages. But since already some students got the interview and some got the rejection, we need to wait longer to know the status one way or other since some of us (including my D) did not get any email/mail one way or other (though we applied to TCNJ in Oct 10th itself).
