^^^ make sure that your ccc allows you to take that many units in the first place.

actually I have 12 transferrable credits.

@Renouveau i’m a one year transfer who also had 7 ap’s (though i think you eng lit will overshadow eng lang) and applied to haas this year as well as econ at la…i’ll find out in a month how it goes lol, though me getting rejected would mean little to your chances as it’s just so competitive that it sortof seems to come down to luck…but you can definitely meet all the requirements for haas in a year (i had already taken econ and the arts requirement in the summer, but i also took classes unrelated to haas requirements in the year so you should be able to work those in)…not sure if you can also do polysci requirements or marshall’s requirements as well since i don’t know them

I did 60 units in 1 year. It’s manageable ! But I am concurrently enrolled in 3 colleges so I have to commute quite a bit.
Summer:7
Fall: 25
Winter: 6
Spring: 22

Update of admission: just got in UC Davis. Still waiting for SB, UCB, and UCLA

Love to see that everyone who tries to transfer in 1 year, despite the obstacles, manage to get in UC
Cheers to everybody !

Have any of you guys heard anything from SB?

@DCSPORTSFAN
No, not yet !
I think UCSB is having a hard time with one year transfer
What college have you already heard from ?

I got into UCSB for Financial Mathematics and Statistics (3/22) and UCSD for Computer Science (3/15 I think. It was before UCSB).

I only applied to UCSB in case I suddenly decided I wanted to go into banking and I still don’t. Kind of a waste of $60.

I only applied to SB UCLA and CAL I figured if I don’t get it I could just go back to CC for a year and do TAP

^^^
what r your stats?

woah dc my situation is pretty much the same as yours! i only applied to sd, cal, and la. worst case scenario is i stay another year and to tag haha

took 18 units in the Fall 4.0
3 in the winter 4.0
doing another 18 right now the rest come from AP

Igetc and all pre-reqs done by end of spring

1 year transfer here.

Took about 4 years off out of high school to push funding and development of my nonprofit organization instead of going to college despite a 1490/1600 SAT and all the statistical crap high school kids base their lives on (family loved the idea lol).

Came into CCC with 8 AP’s with 4’s and 5’s. Finished the rest of my IGETC (except for the Lab that goes with the Science) in 1 year.

Accepted: UCSD, UCSB, UCI, UCD, NYU
Pending: UCLA, UCB, Stanford, Northwestern

Best of luck everyone :)

thelongshot: you are, by far, the most impressive applicant ive seen thus far.

Wow. Thank you beowulf. I’m positive there are better applicants than me but I really do appreciate that.

How do you guys take above 15 non-web units? (I mean, how do you manage the work?)

I could probably do it with 101 classes, but lab-sciences? Overwhelming yourself with crap and then getting a B? Not worth it.

well, i’ve been able to handle lab sciences so far simply because they’ve been review…i took ap bio, ap chem, and ap physics in high school and rather conveniently, had the same textbooks i’m using now so i haven’t even bothered to buy the books…i’m just going off of memory and getting A’s :] oh, and plenty of the labs are nearly the same as well lol

@nincompoop

Choose the classes wisely and love your major ! I love my media studies class and for other classes, i ask recommendation from friends. Also the teachers are crucial. I use ratemyprofessor (probably like most ppl). I have this one geography class, I have no interest in the subject but the teacher is so passionate and really pushes you, so I also try my best to do the good work.

Also, don’t afraid to ask for help. Talk to the professors, TA,…

Finally, have a routine. Schedule the time to do the work. It’s manageable i’m telling you and im actually quite lazy…and i manage to do the work

Yes, I didn’t plan my schedule out well. And yes, I did take some AP sciences, unfortunately they’re not at all relevant to my major (I took AP chem and AP bio, but I’m a CS major).

I would also never take something just because of the ease in passing the class. I’m sure certain topics are easier than others (such as geography, nutrition, or something), but I’m interested in other things.

:/

the few cs classes i took with labs just happened to not require much if any work outside of class…i could generally finish everything in the lab period and if i couldn’t, then i just finished it during lecture :]

@lomkh

There’s only one required CS class, and I’ve aced it. Right now I’m taking mechanics and the guy is busting my balls.
