^^ i mean international, even if they are at a CCC, in case it wasn’t clear. In other words, vetifying English proficiency face-to-face.
Gotcha. those guys didn’t clarify that part.
I am an international student at a CC. Though other ppl that I know who got interviews as well are not international students.
@haascatbear Were they also applying to Haas?
Yes. Most of us have relevant work experience so maybe that’s why they want to know more about us to make better decisions I guess.
What are your stats @haascatbear if you don’t mind posting?
Hi guys, I was selected for an interview as well. I have been to Haas this morning and asked a couple of questions about that. So, basically they have 1900 applicants for the fall 2017 and about 90 got their interview invitations. The lady also said that it is a good sign for you and they want to know more about you before you got admitted. We will be interviewed by the alumni because they have gone through the school and they can determine whether we going to succeed there or not. They will try to figure out our weaknesses and strengths and then report their thoughts to the admission office. I was also trying to find out what kind of questions they might ask but she refused to tell me because she doesn’t want me to be prepared in advance.
@Arsen05 Thanks for the information! I called them as well and they said they will ask general questions about yourself and your interests in Haas since the alumni don’t have access to your applications.
Do you happen to go to BCC or DVC?
I actually had all my classes finished at San Mateo CC but I have 1 last math class at DVC since I moved from Daly City to Concord. What about you?
I never made a stats post so I don’t really know the correct format, but here it is:
CCC Transfer
UC GPA 3.7
Major GPA: 4.0
Finishing Calc 2, English 1B, and Stats for prereq.
2 classes short of Breadth, I think?
I am an international student, went to high school in the states and was at a 4-year university for a year. I had some personal issues and received academic dismissal as a result. So I went back to my country and started working in international businesses.

@Arsen05 I see. I go to BCC!
Really good information on this page!
BTW last year they have had the same amount of applications but threw away about 1300 due to the errors and unfulfilled requirements. Then, they admitted 105 transfer student out of 600, which is about 18%. She said this statistic is almost the same every year.
@Arsen05 here’s hoping that all of us on this thread end up in that 18% this year! :-bd
I hope we will. I asked her about the course load in Haas and she told me that 13-15 units at Haas are the same as 22-25 units in your CC. My best friend has transferred this spring to UCB Econ and I lost him already. He is in library almost 24/7.
@Arsen05 Yeah I have a friend at Cal who is a Poli Sci major and he said that finals week at our CC is basically every single week over there. I have a friend at Haas right now who is completely M.I.A. like your friend ha
It’s all worth it though! I’ve never been more ready to ruin my social life.
I hope my wife won’t divorce me lol
It seems like there’s a lot of really strong candidates on here. From what I saw on last years thread a good amount were accepted
I know Haas is a completely different situation since it’s so competitive, but from being apart of different threads for different schools, those who “should” get in for the most part do. As stated above, a lot of people don’t even get looked at because they are missing a class or did something wrong.
I feel good about all of us in here who shared their stats. I’d hate to see those who really want to go to Haas get rejected for whatever reason.
I got an interview for Haas too.
