time goes by so slowly when waiting for decisions >.<

Is this how time normally passes? Really slowly, in the right order?

slowly is an understatement. time is barely creeping by! the anticipation is worse than the wait though. much worse

@katzellner YES!!! I was waiting for a DW reference to pop up

@Kattzellner If you just made a Doctor Who reference, I’m about to implode from your awesomeness.

Katzellner I see what you did there!

@katzellner

That alone should get you admitted

Hahahahaha I was hoping someone would get it! December is the worst: waiting for colleges AND the new episode!

time is feeling all wibbly wobbly right now

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually — from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint — it’s more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly… timey-wimey… stuff

Oh this is how it all ends, Pond flirting with herself, true love at last. & Rory’s face!!! (:
Who bawled at the last episode of the Ponds?

Better question: Who didn’t???
I feel so sad for Rory’s dad…he’s not ever going to seem them again ;(

I would like to say to you all that each and every one of you is going to be successful regardless of where you go to college or whether or not you go at all. It hurts to be turned down by someone you love, whether that’s a flesh-and-blood human being or an institution that you centered your dreams for your future around. But your identity is independent of that. What you do with your life is independent of that. You were all attracted to the University of Chicago because you’re brilliant in some capacity, and because you want to hone your unique skills to be better equipped to combat the world’s many great problems. With the lifetimes you are given, you can chose to be heroes with or without the approval and support of a high-ranking university. All that is necessary is to trust in your own abilities and your own will to fight for solutions.

i feel like if i get in im going to be out of place because ive never watched dr who

Can I just say how wonderful it is that while all the other Ivy League decision threads, etc, are all anxious and freaking out, here we are on the UChicago thread we start quoting Dr. Who? I wish you all the very very best of luck :)

Well, back in St. Olaf…

Does UChicago wait until mid-December so all the accepted EDers have a chance to pull out apps? I was just kind of wondering about why they release later, and that’s the best reason I could come up with. lawlz

Seems like I’m the only one who didn’t get the time quote. Perhaps because I’m not accustomed to American culture. I have no idea what katzellner said

it’s from a television show. I don’t watch TV really, but I watch Dr. Who occasionally because it’s clever and inspirational. where did you say you were from?

@HateSMUS It’s a reference to a character from the popular British show, Doctor Who :)
