Official UCLA appeal roll call & responses

thanks jink.

i guess ucla didnt think i deserved it. its cool!

goodluck to u!

Any of you who got into UCLA through appeal or still waiting for the result has sent any transcripts or test scores to UCLA?

Since they want your transcript up to Fall 08 before June 1st, just wondering…

Yeah, I went to my CC and requested it sent today. However, I think they give you three weeks from the day you were admitted to get it to them…

@peppamintt

Thanks to you too! Good luck with UCSB! I’m living here now, and it’s a stellar campus, and it’s only getting better. In recent years, the school has become drastically more competitive and the reputation is soaring.

@cgee89

I haven’t sent any transcripts, only unofficials via email to the datachng@saonet email address. I’d think it would be enough for them to make a decision, though they’ll want the officials AFTER they finalize the decision.

I am Biz Econ appeal. Dropped mine off in person on Friday and got status change today. =X

more competitive = less humane.

OMG! I just got into UCLA! NO WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

^
'Grats! Obviously it was worth the time…xD. [:

hey what was your line of reasoning for your appeal?

I don’t think it’s cool for someone who got into UCLA and is appealing because they didn’t get into their first major but 2nd. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A MAJOR CHANGE FORM?

@jmerideth011

Was your decision site updated after 8pm PST?

I wanna say it was posted at like 3 or 4. But, don’t quote me.

As far as my appeal goes, I didn’t list that I had taken 5 years of French classes and my AP scores. On top of that, I forgot to include two courses since I had taken them in high school to get started on my college units. Hence forth when they originally read the application, it seemed as if I was insufficient in units. So, I included my grades from French classes, AP scores, and my courses that would equal out to the necessary 60 units. Simple mistake; thank goodness it didn’t cost me admissions.

right.

simple mistake

how did you manage to miss that big chunk of information?

Wow, good job jmerideth011, congratulations.
That did seem like a big chunk of things to leave out, especially considering you specifically took those courses so you could list them on your applications.

And now that you’re a bruin you can use henceforth casually? :wink:
(It’s one word)

Seriously though, good job. Congrats.

@peppamintt

I would have said the exact opposite. I think humans are one of few specie who have competition as an important aspect of their daily lives. And even if UCSB is becoming less humane, you’ll be able to find a great niche there. The typical student is a ‘suburban bro’, but branching out from that there are so many great people and helpful professors (my sister also lives in SB and goes to UCSB), that the ‘competition’ is less cutthroat and instead beneficial.

i meant ucla is becoming less humane. not ucsb.

oh. i see. you have a point there.

@johnngo: You can’t change majors once you transfer to UCLA

@woahitspi

check out [New Bruins - Changing Majors - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](Admitted Students | UCLA Undergraduate Admission) at UCLA’s website. I think you can change major once admitted if you petition and receive the department head’s approval. Of course, the chances of being able to do this after transferring to UCLA may be slim, slim enough to count as an impossibility.

Got rejected again today… :frowning: (buz econ)

Anyways, I guess I would have to attend UCI then…
