But I think that my personal statement was my strength and helped cover that. By personal statement, I mean not the essay itself but the content–I talked about my dad’s illness last year and how I handled the situation and trying to not affect my studies.</p>

<p>I did find the TAG requirement but it also says they will basically look at your stats if TAG-rejected and move you into the pool of regular applicants. It’s not a requirement fo regular admissions, is it? So why are they penalizing TAG folks??? Oh well.</p>

I find it interesting that UCSB has decided to put on their site that financial aid packages are not made available until SIR is submitted but I guess someone has called already and cleared that up. </p>
