Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): The main thing that worried me for sure was my lack of extracurriculars after I went to community college, though I did participate in many in high school. But I think that my personal statement was my strength and helped cover that. By personal statement, I mean not the essay itself but the content–I talked about my dad’s illness last year and how I handled the situation and trying to not affect my studies.

@Tonystark93 Did you figure this out? Does anyone know if they release more hourly or if it’s once a day? For example did anyone check this morning and get “pending” then check again later today and have it change? I have literally checked every hour today haha

I think it’s once a day. P.S. So many Econ/Acct majors!

Admitted!

This is great! Still waiting on UCLA, UC Berkeley, and UCSD.

Thx @ijustwannasurf. I guess it is what it is. It is stupid. All they need to do is accept with conditions. Or ask for mid-term grades as Santa Clara University did.

I did find the TAG requirement but it also says they will basically look at your stats if TAG-rejected and move you into the pool of regular applicants. It’s not a requirement fo regular admissions, is it? So why are they penalizing TAG folks??? Oh well.

Here are my stats, hopefully it can give some of you guys some hope or peace of mind :)

I checked around 2:45pm and my decision was up already

UCSB actually don’t use personal statements when deciding your admissions lol. Getting in with a GPA like that must be sweet!

Hey, congratulations to everyone that has been admitted so far! I just received notification of my acceptance and have already signed a lease for a house with a few people down in Isla Vista. I know people may be waiting to hear from other schools still, but if anyone is dead set on UCSB and are looking to not live in student housing let me know because I still need a roommate for a large double.

If you are interested, you can either contact me through email on here, or you can search Jake Gorham on Facebook as well!

@mich312 it’s nice hearing that as I’m also hoping to get in the pre-comm major. I have a 3.11 however and no AA-T. I go to SBCC and my grades have improved significantly from last year so I’m hoping they take that into account.
Applied: San Jose st, Fresno st, Chico st, sdsu, lbsu, UC Santa Cruz

@rsparis Yeah! Don’t lose hope cause your gpa isn’t as high, I’m sure gpa isn’t the only thing they look at or else how did I get admitted LOL good luck fellow pre-comm, I’m rooting for ya!

@kmc357
