Official UNC-Chapel Hill Fall 2012 Transfer Thread

Cornell also releases decisions mid-april, so I think it just varies by school.

I am assuming that it will be the 20th also, because previous years it’s been on the 14th and 15th. I know they had a spike in decisions this year but the 27th does seem a little late. I can’t wait any longer!

@Penny2012: William and Mary releases their transfer decisions end of April/May 1st.

Also, does anyone know if they email before decisions are out?

Admissions just responded to my e-mail and she said I will know before May 1st. We’ll see.

Dang. As others have mentioned, they only give us two weeks to decide then. All we can do is hope that they come out this Friday.

Hello everyone! I’ve been lurking the thread for a while. I figure that it would be nice to join you guys in this terribly long waiting process.

I am trying to transfer from a NC CC with 53 credits after this spring semester. My major is General Studies in Science so far. Want to do Chemistry at UNC. I really hope that they will release the decision this Friday, as it was the trend (3rd Friday of April) during the recent years. UNC is my first and only choice this time. Wish everyone the best luck!

@Penny2012, I just received an email today from W&M saying I was accepted. You should hear soon.

Sorry to take away from the focus of the thread.

In 2009, we found our decisions beginning of April. I’ll bet my money that it could be sooner than Friday. Mine was a Thursday at 5PM. Best of luck to all of you! You all sound like astounding candidates and wish you all of the best with your admission, and if it’s not UNC that you chose, a lot of your schools are known to be some of the best universities.

Do they still have that admission blog? They update it regularly and you can find out when admissions will be released through that.

Congrats first !!!That’s really fast…Well, I faxed a supplemental essay yesterday to W&M and was told it won’t affect when will I get my decision. I think I have to wait for at least another week, coz I’m international applicant abroad.

Now let’s refocus on UNC! It really surprises me that this year UNC would have such a large pool of transfer applicants. Are u guys all from Carolina or mostly somewhere else? Very very few people in my country would apply for UNC coz they think UNC only prefer in-state residents(like 80%). I don’t know whether it would be harder for international applicants to get in, but I do love UNC and I would give it a shot whatsoever. Wish everyone here good news from UNC soon !!!

i called the admissions office today and they told me they started mailing out decisions today and everyone should know by friday. For all the out of state transfers out there like myself an encouraging statistic is 41 percent of transfers are from out of state. it’s only 18 percent out of state for freshman.

^ Good to know! Thanks!

41% OOS transfers is very promising. Hopefully the wait will be over by this friday. Good luck to everyone!

So were getting physical letters first? Ugh, I live so far from North Carolina.

Oh my God, are you serious! Did you really speak to someone and they said they started the mailings today? I hope this is for real! Truly! I hope this is not another disappoint, like when we read last week someone said admissions said decisions were coming out last week, when really they weren’t! This would be so great if we find out this week! YES!!

I wonder why they are not sharing this on their blog yet? They keep saying the end of April.

Wow really?! I hope this isn’t a false statement lol Now I’m really stoked! Thanks for the info!

Hopefully he’s not a ■■■■■ lol.

I was just about to say, I think we have a ■■■■■.

No, I really want to believe him lol
