^ It’s supposedly a glitch in their system.

All I can say is wow lol I’m so anxious.

I start to doubt whether that email they send to me was also an error? I just need an answer by 20th! good news or bad news, either way I can face it.

U think maybe this year UNC received much more competitive applicants than before??? Why do I saw someone got rejected in early May last year?

hunter780, you sound like a disgruntled applicant who got rejected. Every single interaction I’ve had with UNC has been overwhelmingly positive (except this whole fiasco). And no UNC doesn’t take that long. Other comparable schools actually take longer (mid-May to June) so please stop trolling.

‘Trolling’ does not merely mean something that makes you angry. It is something that is intended to cause anger, and only that, to the humor of the author. I see nothing in his post to suggest that intent.

Thanks, Mikethechimp for pointing that out.

Terp2014,
I’m very happy to hear that you have had such positive experiences with UNC. Not sure if you mean UNC as a university, or UNC Admissions. I went to UNC as an undergrad. Was admitted early, and am now a student at UNC Law. I believe UNC is one of the top public universities in the country and wouldn’t trade my experiences here for anything. HOWEVER, two people close to me have had horrible experiences with UNC admissions (getting a letter they got in, only to find out later it was a mistake). Now, watching what my sister is dealing with this admissions round, it seems like the same story over again of “whoopsies” in the office giving people false hope. So, you are correct, I am disgruntled, but only with whatever chaos seems to be going on in the UNC Admissions office, not with my personal experiences and education at UNC.
I do, however, appreciate your (false) insights into my state of mind. I hope you are a psychology major, since you obviously have such a knack for it.

yeah…totally agree~UWS said they will mail decision to me in July. 囧 Really, mail to me? I’m in China not China town. I don’t think I can hold that long to see their decision coz I won’t even have time getting my visa.

so is it coming out tomorrow or no?

摸摸Peny
I got the email, too.
Hope everything is okay.

Guys, UNC is not as bad as UC systems sending out acceptance letters via email to everyone who applied.

And take it from a successful UNC transfer and recent grad, the moment you get your letters (praying that they’re all positive) is well worth the wait. I mean many of you have been waiting all of high school and through your first year and/ or second year of college, you can obviously wait a few more days or week.

My advice for those who need to make a decision for other universities, send in your deposits (you can all afford a $450 investment) and at least you have a security blanket, if you do not want to stay at your current university.

From one Tar Heel to a pool of hopefuls, good luck and the wait is well worth being in the THRILL!

wow I am kind of disappointed…I guess we have to wait for another week… Hope they will not tell us the same thing that they haven’t finished reviewing our applications next Friday…But is it possible that they will say that again? I doubt it…Who knows…Let’s wait and see…

Don’t give up hope yet. It’s very possible that we will get our decisions tomorrow.

deep down I knew this going to happen. Too good to be true. Keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I, also, have lost hope for tomorrow. Fingers are crossed though.

fingers crossed for tomorrow…Even though we all know that probably it is too good to be true lol~~~

I’m with hunter780. How can this just happen? I don’t get it. I feel as if they should have just gone ahead and released decisions, I mean, wouldn’t that have been better, instead of an apology? It doesn’t make sense.

To be honest, something is going on, some kind of “round” has gone off or begun, because applicants are already beginning to find out if they have been accepted or not (at least by mail in regards to earlier posts here). I mean, really, what’s going on here? I would expect this from somewhere else, but not UNC.

They had 30, 000 applicants for first year and they notified them “ON TIME.” Thus, even if they had over 3,000 transfer applications, come on, really? A false notification of decisions? Get out!

@meilleur: Literally! Too good to be true! <laugh></laugh>

Here’s to us finding out tomorrow, FOR REAL! Cheers! Good night everyone!

Well, the transfer applicant pool is much lower in quality than the first year pool (lets face it), so we can be toyed with.

Seriously??? I don’t see too much difference there except for the 18% out-of-state cap. I’d rather UNC put me in the first-year pool than in this transfer pool since my first year gpa sucks.

I have a strong confidence that decisions will be out tomorrow. They usually come out on the same day or the day after the instructions are posted. Also, tomorrow is the 3rd Friday of April, which is usually the trend. Sleep tight everyone, and wish you all best luck!
