Official UNC-Chapel Hill Fall 2012 Transfer Thread

Does anybody know when the deadline is for us to send our final transcripts to UNC? Do we just mail it to the same address that we sent the transcripts to during the application process?

@ihavefaith yes, my e-mail.

Did anyone just receive that e-mail with transfer instructions. I’m nervous, I don’t even know what classes to sign up for.

hey guys

anyone know how to send in our financial aid documents such as tax transcripts? USPS mail or can we e-mail attachments?

So you get an email that tells you how many credits transfer? I can’t find it on my onyen

^ It gets sent to the email address you applied with.

Has anybody not received the transfer credit evaluation yet?

@ redwings Did you check your UNC email?

^
I received it this afternoon. Check your Heelmail account. It is what I expected it to be, but it is weird that they didn’t consider my ENG 112 as equivalence to the English requirement ENG 105. I guess I’ll give them a call tomorrow.

Also, did anyone receive his or her financial aid package yet? What does yours look like? I’ve just got it in the email. They gave me about 65% in grants like what they promise, but the rest of the package is from loans. I didn’t get any work-study or laptop grants thought :(.

^They didn’t give me credit for Eng 1102 either. I need to call them also.

For those of you who are trying to transfer in certain courses, like business courses, you will have to go through Kenan Flagler and they limit the number of credits you can transfer in, but can give you elective credit for it.

Hope this helps!

My d’s Nutrition class did not get any credit from App State. She is upset because it was one of the most difficult classes that she has taken there. Anyone with any experience of questioning transfer credits?

I just got my financial aid package. It’s just two different loans, no grants or anything, but I kind of expected it would be this way.

Yeah, I checked my Heelmail account; received an email regarding my financial aid package, but nothing about my credit evaluation.

do you have to accept admission to get your credit eval? I accepted but have to send in a check since they only take mastercard… Do I have to wait until I have payed? Or is there anyway to see it now?

^ No. I haven’t accepted the offer but have received the credit evaluation. However, I did set up an Onyen account.

@collegeboy1010 - I haven’t received my credit evaluation either. Maybe we will get them tomorrow.

Also, does anybody know when the deadline is for us to send our final transcripts to UNC? Do we just mail it to the same address that we sent the transcripts to during the application process?

Also, quick question about cost of attendance for UNC as an out-of-state student. I received my financial aid package and will get $16,000 in grants per year, and around $6,000 in loans. Based on UNC’s website, I will still have to pay roughly $20,000 per year, which is a bit much for my family.

[Tuition and fees](http://admissions.unc.edu/Aid_and_Scholarships/Tuition_and_Fees/default.html)

Do you guys think their estimates are a bit on the high end? Any suggestions to lower those figures?

I just got my financial aid on my student center.
I’m getting around $32,000 in grants, which is pretty sweet.

I got 33k in grants! woo hoo! I can afford school now

Hey everyone, its my first time on this blog. I am also a transfer student to UNC as a rising junior! Hope to meet some of you at the orientation or the welcome meeting next week!!
