that’s too bad regarding our future education
this is just because of north korea
we dont really care about them but why are they trying to create problems all the time? i never understand…
anyway
i suggest that you finish your school first and then join the service
you can delay the army thing until ph.d degree which my brother did before.
if you defer the admission and go to army right now, nobody knows if you can come back here, i bet. it’s getting harder and harder to get visa because of international students that just work and illigally stay here.
it’s about your entire future. have a conversation with your parents and older people, not your close friends who would tell u to join the army right away.
it’s just my opinion, but im giving you advices as a person whi experienced the same problem before you.
It is also a good idea to finish all of your educational goals, and then join it when you are like 29 or 30 or even older. Once you are old enough, people in the army respect your age and you have more options to take a specific charge like a driver.
Lastly, think about katusa! or you can even work as a translator in the army if spaces are available. this opportunity first goes to an older person

all of your educational goals mean graduate or doctral degree

As far as North Korea is concerned, they just shut down the joint factory on the border. This is a huge milestone in their escalation of force. I honestly just think they’re following the typical North Korea doctrine of “making a lot of noise and ****ing everyone off until someone gives them aid.” However, I wouldn’t be shocked if a major incident occurred. If I was in charge over there I would be very careful what I did, a lot of people are so pre-occupied with blaming George Bush for everything that they don’t understand exactly how gangster Barack Obama can be. He ordered the SEALS to breach a nations sovereignty so they could go shot Bin Laden in the face. Additionally, He killed an American Citizen with a drone overseas, George Bush wouldn’t have dared to do any of this.

It could be argued as well that the media was pretty anti-Bush, and him doing these things would have been political suicide. Depending on circumstances of course. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if something big happens soon.

Most of the media is left-wing, so republicans are usually not shed in good light, except on Fox news, which has a terrible reputation.

I certainly am not advocating a war, but if we were to get into one, I would want it to be against NK. No country is inhumane or annoying as NK. They are starving and lagging most of the world just because their leaders have brainwashed them so much. The NK people are basically taught to believe that Kim Jong Il/Un are like God.

Edit : In other news, I got a fortune cookie today and it read “All your doubts will disappear early this month”. First thing I could think of was this upcoming decision lol

SAT- thing with north korea is they have no oil. Thats why iraq was invaded on the pretense of non-existant WMD’s while North Korea was developing and testing them right under our noses. the sad truth is that almost nobody would benefit from an invasion of north korea, so war with them probably wont happen. iran is another story.

wow i didn’t expect to see a lot of statements on political issues lol
im very happy to have people that i can talk to about political issues. my friends here only talk about girls money and cars.
btw SAT100, when i read your words quickly i thought you were saying you got a mail from unc saying “all of your doubts will disappear early this month.” lol it meant you got a fortune cookie haha

hope they are releasing decisions on this coming friday, i would have to cope with another week of torture otherwise.
lastly, my classis is just cancelled. i hate when i face a situation like this where i spent a lot of time for 4 pages of essays and the professor simply says, “hey guys class is cancelled” i would have got other works done if i knew it…

If the fortune cookie says it then it has to be true. Friday it is!

@CCstudentNYC

I really hope so
I haven’t been able to sleep for more than 5 hours these days

Has anyone talked to admissions today for an update on when we will be notified?

I don’t think they will give us a specific date.

spoke to admissions today and asked if there was a set date yet and she said other than mid-april no

im pretty sure its next friday
i got a mail from felder andrea who im sure you guys know and she said she will review and evaluate with my recommendations. With that said, we can expect that decisions on some people have not been made yet and it’s gonna take them some calandar days at least to come to conclusion.
It would be great if we see our decisions this friday though

I’m currently a freshman at Gardner-Webb University and I want to transfer to Carolina in the fall. I actually got into UNC when I applied as a senior in high school, but I chose Gardner-Webb because I had a full tuition scholarship there.

danielle id be shocked if you didnt get in. especially considering youve already been accepted once

Yeah I guess Im worrying now because I’m competing with the out of state kids

The decisions do take about two weeks to be fully revealed, due to late transcript submissions etc. So, it could still be this Friday. But if that is what she said, then it potentially is next Friday, rather than this Friday. It’s probably 50/50 now.

@danielle – You’re in. Don’t even worry.

wait you mean they could admit people on a rolling basis?

No, last year it took like a week and a half for all the decisions to be fully released. I think the majority were put online the first day, but all of the people who sent stuff in really late took longer to be put online. That’s just according to the thread, and blog last year.

Well, at the same time, if people keep submitting things late - that slows it down for everyone. However, I don’t think it should be that way since I remember reading that if they didn’t get the information by… I forget what date… they were evaluating the application based on what they’d received. Which I think is fair.

It’d be nice for it to be this Friday.
