Official UNC-Chapel Hill Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

You should know by next week.

Psychology - Last name starts with F
I finished my application pretty close to the deadline too. Admissions called me last week and asked for additional information, which I submitted Friday.
I will probably be the very last person to know… Ha… ;/

Hopefully tomorrow! I can’t take this much longer!!!

I went onto ConnectCarolina and under “My Academics” it shows me which of my classes transferred.

Did anyone else’s ConnectCarolina mess up after paying the deposit? I can’t even login anymore, it’s saying that I am not authorized. Really strange…

@justblewit I chose to defer the deposit based on anticipated financial aid. No problems with ConnectCarolina yet.

I got my decision and my last name starts with R, Public Policy major. I submitted…I think February 14 or maybe a few days before, haha. But I also haven’t seen many pub pol applicants, maybe that’s why I got my decision on the first day.

Someone should make a facebook group for transfers!

Sure. I’ll post the link here.

<a href=“UNC Chapel Hill Transfer Students 2014-2015 | Facebook”>https://www.facebook.com/groups/735705526461095/

Okay, well, type the fb webadress then add: /groups/735705526461095/

ACCEPTED!! :)

3.75 gpa from a NC community college
Latina
Created a charity event, secretary of a club, steady job since I was 13.
Amazing letters of rec.
PTK
Mass comm and journalism major.
56 credits now, will have over 70 by the end of this semester.
Just to forewarn future transfers, this forum was nice but I felt 90 percent of the people on here were overqualified and it made me paranoid and I doubted my resume, which is actually pretty great.
Was told several times I needed internships, journalism related ECs, etc and I have no such things and still was accepted.
This forum just did not help me out. Looking at overqualified stats from students who might not be valid (it is the internet, people do lie and over exaggerate) I wish I had spent more time bettering my resume/ doing charity events and less time doubting myself because I was constantly comparing myself to others.
So, for the 2015 people, I would not recommend checking these forums. Do well, do your best, but having students who are not the UNC admissions staff give you their opinions might not be the best route to take. With all due respect to all of those on here.
Congrats to all of those accepted though and I am sure we will cross paths at UNC.

To all of us who still have not received a decision yet, best of luck to you all. I hope we all get accepted tomorrow!

YESSSSSSS. Pretty much my whole group is in but me. I’m not feelin’ it lol

@TNborn49‌ I totally agree with you- I have tried to avoid these forums in terms of stats until after I had my decision- for next year, if any 2015 transfers look at this, JUST use it for informational stuff, like when our decisions were released, etc, etc!

I dont think decesions have that much to do with when you applied. I submitted my application just one day before the deadline, which was around feb 18, a few more days after the original deadline which was extended because of the weather (snow days). And I received my decision yesterday as the rest who were accepted.
Best of luck to everyone that is still waiting, I sincerely hope all of you get a happy decision soon. I know how it feels to be on that boat, two years ago I applied as a first year student and was rejected.
Good luck to all of you

Hello, I was wondering if any of you know when class registration will open? Also, if you know when will transfer orientation be and if its mandatory? I am worried because I will be traveling in May to visit family and wont come back until late in July. I am really worried that this will be a problem for me. I am going next week to talk in UNC about this, but I cant avoid worrying until then.
Thank you all for any possible help.

Good luck to all still waiting!!

I think bluenet is right about when your application was completed not mattering in the decision timeline. I submitted my application the day before the extended deadline (Feb 19th or so I believe) and I received my decision the other day (4/15). Thanks Lpetrichor for making that facebook page. I’ve requested to join.

Best of luck to all who are still waiting!

@Dan0110 you are most welcome. Also, @bluenet13 I am not sure how it is for normal transfers but my orientation with both C-STEP and UNC is mandatory. It may just be my program requirements but nevertheless you should check.
