Sir, if you are truly interested in Engineering and were accepted to Case Western Reserve, don’t waste time fretting over UVA. Case Western is one of the finest Engineering schools in the USA. Get your deposit in and in 4 years you will be heavily recruited. Good Luck.

I would suggest not including income on these tables. First, your parents may not like it, particularly if you include lots of other identifying information. Second, because UVa is need blind, it is irrelevant to the UVa admissions process.

Ok I’ll admit it, I’m a parent of the student

He’s devasted, I won’t sugarcoat it. UVA was his first choice.

2300 SAT (800 math, 770 CR, 730 WR)
4.3 GPA obviously weighted
Subj test (770 Chem I think, 800 Math II)
All 5’s on his AP exams, except one 3
Very challenging course work at an incredibly challenging High School

I changed his scores a tiny amount to keep him annonomous, but not by much, his scores were that good.
5 or 6 AP courses including Calc and Physics

Serious illness caused his grades to drop a little and he had to cut back the rigor somewhat, but we never imagined it would drop him out of top contention for UVA.

Trying to keep him positive for the waitlist. Tough time for all kids. As an adult it’s easy to say life will work out, but it’s tough for a kid to understand.

Been a tough year for this family, praying for something positive.
