Official US November SAT discussion

@pink so the answer was 1 or was it 1000?

@Jtown the answer was 1001 b/c it said what does the number have to be so that (1/ sqrt (x-1000)) is an integer. For that to be true, srqt x - 1000 has to be equal to one, making it 1001.

what is woof about? I dont remember having this passage!!!

wait i think III was true. because if b=1 than the answer is always 1 isnt it.

(4+1)-(4*1)=1

@SatTooEasy 14 is not a factor of 36

For the one with the Japanese calligraphy guy…
I put impertinent. I don’t how the question the woman asked was “improptu” (which means to improvise). If anything, it was irrelevant (impertinent) because the young sensei wasn’t being asked questions that he felt were relevant. He says this at the end of the story.

For Vocab I got:
Doctoring… Altruism (Doctoring means to fake something)
Implicit ( Number 8 on the dolphin section with the employees)
Staple
Ingrate
Immersed

For some of the readings:
More abstract ( I think this was one of the shorter stories)
Regarding the WOOH one, I got comedy (Choice A). Don’t know if this is right though.

Vapperss, yeah you’re right, but they’re talking about a different question, I think.

yea i got 1001 for the grid in

After which sentence did the Harry Potter thing go? I think I put C for that one.
Other weird math questions:
How long did the train take to get from the station to D? It felt so wrong ignoring the stops, but it didn’t say to exclude them…
What was the answer for the MC computer picture/background colors question? It seemed ambiguous and I think it was experimental. I had four math sections, three CRs and two writings…

i got 1001
and i got only choice 3?
because when i plugged it in, wouldn’t it always be 1?

@kunakkunal2, for the calligraphy, the quote was something along the lines of “Exhausting her repertoire… [question]” The exhaustion of her repertoire means impromptu, no? And the passage does not suggest that the questions are irrelevant. If anything, it suggests that they are shallow? I’m not too sure. Back me up, someone hahaha.

@kunalkunal are you from international? This is so confusing.

The answer was III only

Did anyone NOT have the woof and calligraphy guy?

I had the woof and the calligraphy.

Woof, I put : flippancy

calligraphy, I put: impromptu

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1237439-official-us-november-sat-discussion-ii-test-negative-campaigns.html

There were two versions of the test. If you didn’t have the Woof passage, go to the other thread so there’s less confusion.

nah, I’m not international lol. I don’t recall her saying “exhausting her repertoire” but if so then improptu would sound right.
Also there was another one of those “guess what word” that means questions in the dolphin passage. I think it was merely? What did you guys get for that one.
…and what about the solid question in the dolphin passage?

I put C for Harry potter as well… I think somewhere in paragraph 2.
I think a better answer choice is nowhere though, since it was so random lol

@ClassicLays does Nov Test always have two forms?

Thanks ClassicLays omg*** hahahaha.
