Official US November SAT discussion

y=2 went through 3 points

I felt that I did pretty well on the Math, yet when I reached question 10/14 on the 3rd Math section, I realized I bubbled in my answers for that and the previous section in the wrong spot. I blanked out for the rest of the section and wasted the first 3 minutes of the next CR section erasing/transferring all my answers. It was awful.

Was the “Summer 1953” short passage from an experimental section? If not, what did the phrase stand for? And what did you put for the question following it (parenthetical citation)?

What did you get for the Writing question, “[So and so] thinks her colleague is competent, which she said to her friend”? Was it “[So and so] thinks her colleague is competent and said so to her friend”?

Another Writing: Some famous novelist with a foreign name, with “then only” a certain age. That was “No error,” right?

One more W: Passage-based question. Logical word to put in front of something. “Even so,” “As a result,” “More importantly,” etc. Was that “Even so”?

Math: There was a question with two sectors in a circle, one 30 degrees and the other 24. What fraction of the circle were their areas together?

Didn’t get childish for truism and what was drone and defile the answer to?

Also did anyone get a question like : 3x+6y=6 and 2x+4y=4 and it asked the number of solutions the system of equations had?

For the question with the amount of books bought from the poet and actor was one of the answer choices 210? I may have marked that instead of 200 by adding 50 on accident.

I thought the answer to the “truism” question was “commonplace”? Didn’t it describe the claim that people had to accept that they made mistakes?

Andy:

As a result
I got no error for the foreign writer
And I said so and so for that one as well

Yes the summer one must have been experimental

For one of the error IDs where “had lain” was one of the choices, was that one wrong or was there no error?

eff omg i messed up the vocab soooo badly -_-

had lain is apparently correct

Praying4Luck: Thanks. I think I may have gotten the “As a result” question wrong.

And for the sectors in the circle question, do you remember if the answer was 3/20?

Yes 10 char

Did anybody get the “x is a factor of 25, y is a factor of 20, what is the greatest possible from x + y that is less than 1000” question on the gridins?

that was 995

Isn’t it 999

No thats too obvious but mini, can you explain why because I had no idea

Isn’t it asking for the sum of the factors, not the products, so wouldn’t that make the 20 and 25 irrelevant information.

I am 100% sure about the pun one. Right before it said the ‘dermis’ of the earth. Then it said anatomy. It was a pun.

One definition of pluralism is this:

A form of society in which minority groups maintain their independent cultural traditions.

So that could also be right?

its asking for the highest sum of the multiples of 20 and 25 less than 1000. there is no way that it’s 999

i dont think that was on this test cuz i dont remember either one of those questions
