@UCboundvet and @RandomNew Guy - lol yup, new wording:

Too bad they took the words “New student at USC” out. :(

@iloveasianguys… Think happy thoughts, I guess. I mean, I’m fairly worried myself. My GPA at my CC is 3.78, but that’s after they allowed me to retake two F’s from my first stint in college back during my teens. It is my understanding USC doesn’t do the forgiveness thing, so my actual GPA is something like 3.43. I can only hope that Admissions looks at my grades upon returning to school in 2011 (all A’s except for one B, multiple honors courses, PTK, etc.) and makes a judgment based upon recent success.

@Katie617… I guess I tore up my CSU Fullerton letter too soon. Darn it!

@randomnewguy thanks but I am more of a realistic and I am realistic about my slim chances. Your gpa is higher than mine. So yeah I hope so too.

Opinion… Since I can apply to usc with over 64 units do you guys think I should go back to my cc and try to get all as there and reapply if I don’t get in this year? They don’t do pluses or minuses. I’m really miserable here at Davis. But I really hope I get in.

@tomred: Admissions decisions are not posted on USConnect. You might be thinking about where some folks who got accepted noticed a status change online saying that they should wait until April 1st (the freshman deadline) to hear back. It was supposed to be an indicator of a transfer applicant having been accepted, but it’s not 100% accurate. Some who received the status change didn’t get in, and some whose status did not change (myself included) were accepted.

@iloveasianguys I hope you get in this year but if not, would you consider grad school at USC? Are you looking for a particular field of study that you know is awesome at USC or are do you just love USC and want to be a part of a great school? Just a thought.

Can someone just be straight up with me about something? @SilverRex, do you work in the admissions office or am I making things up?

Anyways, I have a 4.0 gpa, go to a good out of state 4 yr art school, & 2/3 of my classes are writing classes. I thought I turned in good essays all polished and neat but recently I looked at them and to my HORROR noticed spelling/ grammar mistakes. There’s only a few but still… Will my application pretty much just be thrown in the garbage?

should I stop worrying, accept the fact that I won’t be accepted to USC, and move on with my life?

You should stop worrying because its to late to do anything about it, but don’t be so negative. Everyone seems to be so pessimistic, I am waiting for my acceptance letter not rejection letter. Good Luck

@chloe316 No worry beef curry! I read an essay of someone who got in and they had a couple of spelling and grammar mistakes too. Your ideas and whatnot are more important. And I’m sure your essays are redonkulous! :]

@katie617 I really want to go to USC as an undergrad. Grad school…I have other plans (i.e out of state colleges) I am not familiar with the grad school life but can you still join clubs, live in dorms, and join greek life and whatnot? I want to go to USC for the lifestyle. I’m from LA so being in Davis is such a drastic change and I can’t take the environment or basically anything. And my ultimate dream is like dancing, singing, something in the media industry but mom won’t let me. I chose pharmacy. But I am currently experiencing a horrible time with chem here at davis so I decided to change my major to business, like what my father does. And my dad went to USC so I want to make him proud and same with my mom. And thanks…I really hope I get in too. I was crying today, again because I’m so worried that I might not get in.

@SilverRex I believe that one of the applicants were referring to the “Backdoor” link to check on their admission status ahead of time online. Rather than waiting for the package to arrive in the mail.

GUYS I am wondering if you can help me out…does an incomplete look good on a transcript? Long story short, I am FAILING econ. I tried everything but I can’t do good on the exams. Grade is only based on 2 midterms and final. I can’t drop because it’s too late. If I have to drop, I need proof (i.e letters) on why I need to drop. Will a C or an I or something of that sort look bad on my transcript? I have a 3.0 gpa, which is not so good for USC.

@chloe316: You’re overreacting! your credentials are great and if your essays are as good as I hope, you have a solid shot. There’s nothing to worry about over a few mistakes in your paper. We’re all human.

@alaintran9: I’ve never heard of any backdoor link.

@ronaldot: I wouldn’t know if midterm reports are considered, nor do I know anyone who sent them in. The only advice I can give you is that they CANNOT count it against you for sending them in. Also, place your USC ID on the top of every page of the document.

@iloveasianguys: It’s difficult to say. You would have to talk with your counselor, professor, and/or someone in USC Admissions to clear up that issue.

Also, chloe316 asked me this in her post, but I thought everyone might like to know; I work in the admissions processing office at USC. What I do is help facilitate the processing of incoming application materials - transcripts, letters of rec, bank statements, etc. - to the correct applicant’s folder. I have zero input on admissions decisions.

@silverrex thanks for your input. I have dropped econ. I am going to email USC but my application looks so horrible with all the drops and adds and change in majors and whatnot D:

i was wondering where you go to update your courses that you’re currently taking for the spring semester/update your winter grade? i previously saw something on USConnect but i think it disappear… or am i just seeing things??

@uscacceptme for myself, I emailed my counselor of my spring classes. I think another option can be to upload a document on usc connect. I did that to let them know of a change in a class that I am taking right now.
