hi there, also here in the waiting game, which has been killing me softly…but was wondering what everyone thought about spring grade requests.

what really is their importance, do you have to keep your grades up to a point where youre showing additional improvement? or is it acceptable to get like a 3.3 (1 or 2 Bs)?

Have any transfers received any news? I saw an acceptance letter from Marshall to a guy in junior standing

Where did you hear such a thing??? @USCtransfer12

Have any transfers received any news? I saw an acceptance letter from Marshall to a guy in junior standing

I saw it on twitter under #admitusc but I haven’t seen it since. Just wanted to make sure!

I’m pretty sure May will be the earliest anyone will find out

I was looking at last year’s thread and many people started getting decisions in mid april. However, mostly everyone who was posting had to submit their spring grade at the end of the semester and a final decision would be made the grades that they received.

Hopefully! Sooner the better. Fingers crossed

Tough to see all the excitement from the freshmen admits when we’ve got so long to go. I’m just trying to strap in for the rest of the semester and try to forget about it. Can’t keep checking USConnect twice a day.

@chloe316 Hey, so I’ve been tracking this thread for a while and saw you also applyied for Screenwriting! Wondering if you have heard anything yet? I also assumed we’d be notified with the Freshmen but I live two hours away from USC and have heard nothing. My mailman comes later in the day but if I don’t recieve anything today I’m not sure whether to take that as a rejection or if we are just going to hear with the transfers. If so I’m ****ed that we had to apply almost two months early boo

@Lilly1234 !!! so happy there’s another screenwriting applicant on here, you have no idea! Hi! I go to school in the south but my address for usc is my home address in the midwest and I haven’t gotten anything either! But today I called usc admissions office and asked them if screenwriting transfer applicants will hear back with freshmen and the person said no in June so I was like gahhhh. Then I called the cinematic arts admissions office and asked the same thing and she said that transfer applicants for screenwriting ARE bunched in with the freshman ones so she said in the next week we should get something because they just sent them out!! So hopefully that is the real answer hah! :)

also is your usconnect app status check the june 1st thing? I thought maybe we would have the same layout as freshmen on usconnect but I guess not (?) :/

Hey I’m from the Midwest too! Bummer though, I wish someone had heard something. Haha I’m so glad you called cause I was about to but then thought they are probably being bombarded with Freshys. Holy ****! This week! Ahhhhhhh, well good thing I’m on spring break because should a rejection come in the mail I may be slightly devestated, although I also applied to their production program so hope will still be alive. I wonder if they sent out transfer letters a few days after the freshmen because otherwise we should recieve them well before next week… at least I would think so. Yes my status is the same thing. I’ve checked five times at least haha. I really just want to know so I can move on with my life!

Cool! So you go to school in California? Yeah this week is so hard, especially seeing twitter and CC blow up with USC freshmen being all like yayy and I’m like loll I hate you all. I applied for creative writing as a 2nd choice but yeah I’m so confused on how it all works. I applied last year only for screenwriting (transfer) and I had no idea about hearing back in March with the freshman so I got my rejection letter in June SUCH A LONG WAIT. Maybs they do send out the transfers after the freshmen? I have no idea other than I know it’s extremely competitive so I just want to hear yes or no RIGHT NOW.

and I did see that a freshman got in for screenwriting today from the midwest but not via mail, they were able to see their decision on usconnect.

Yeppers I moved out here to go to film school and have been here for almost two years (currently a sophomore). I applied to USC’s production as a senior but did so last minute and looking back my portfolio may have been poo haha so ’twas rejected. Then after being at school I just realized I really want to write. Oh my gosh the wait must have been absolute torture! My deepest sympathies Hmmm…. Well now I will just obsessively stalk my mailbox for the next week, unfortuneatly I live in an apartment and have NO idea when the mailman actually gets here. Let the anxiety continue.

Fun fun! I’m a sophomore too. I applied to transfer to chapman and usc last year and got rejected but I visited USC and fell in love. I like where I am now but I just really want to be in California and the USC campus is wonderful!! At least where I am there’s palm trees so I just tell myself in California…

Let me know if you get any mail!! And good luck!

nothing in the mail :(

I’m glad to here you loved the campus! I also applied to Chapman and their campus was adorable but I just have never had time to go visit USC. Ugh! Such a bummer. I guess if we just think, only a few more days… I’m gonna check my mail in an hour so I’ll let you know what I find (probably nothing). Good luck to you too! It’s almost over haha.

Chapman has a nice campus, but I found it a bit too buttoned up (didn’t stop me from applying). I’m not a rah-rah school spirit kind of guy, but USC’s campus and tradition is so impressive that my girlfriend and I almost bought cardinal red and gold gear right there. It’s an awesome campus.

Now I just have two more months of waiting. :(
