Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

Hey everybody. I’ve been creepily checking this page religiously for the past couple of months but finally decided to make an account. Hope everyone is staying sane waiting.

@markyang27 What kind of questions did you ask your admissions counselor when you would email him/her?

anyone hear anything today? i read on thsbusc admission website that transfer apps were 8,000+ im going to take that as a good sign where as previous years there was 9,000+

Nope nothing today unfortunately! We are nearing the middle of April though so it can’t be long before some people start hearing.
And that is a good sign! Admissions doesn’t have to be as selective.

Guys-

I called today, and the admissions representative said we will be notified of the admissions decision in mid to late May

None of us are going to get accepted. USC has like a 20% transfer acceptance rate so we should all just stop worrying and get on with our lives. Its hopeless. Go home.

sniffles

@evenescent wow really? hmm, maybe they’re trying to send out all decisions together like for freshmen this year :\ if so, we have a long way to wait until any of us starts hearing anything :frowning: but i’m thinking maybe there’s a chance that’s just a general date representatives have to tell people asking? let’s hope so :c

I say they just said that to be safe. I’m sure the majority wont hear until then though.

@bwwinthehouse
Yeah right!! I bet over half of us on this forum will get accepted, because the reason that we even go on these forums is because were good students who care about our future.

may is forever away

HELP!

Ok so I applied for the computer science (games) major. It says on the articulation that I should take one class from each category. However, I don’t have any classes under categories 1 and 2… so will I get denied on the spot?

It truly does feel like May is forever away. Guess we’ll just have to focus on pushing through the end of the semester and finals. If you think about it, May will pass by quickly when we’re on summer break since there are a lot more distractions. :)

@ajmy17 I actually think school serves as a bigger distraction, so for me I think May’s going to be even more agonizing lol. I’ll have to make sure to be doing something everyday once school is out haha.

@HeartyBowl I understood that as more of a recommendation than a requirement, because if not that would knock out a lot of freshmen’s chances for transfer. but to be sure you could call admissions or email your counselor.

@heartybowl is you read usc admissions page they encourage you to take advantage of their general ed which im sure includes some of those classes. im in the same boat but i didnt take alot of major prep because i wanna actually take those classes at usc

Hey dose anyone know anything about the NTSAF scholarship? I was looking on the USC scholarship page, and it’s the only one available for transfers to apply right now.

@katie617 yes, it is good to hear from another dornsife applicant! What major are you?

If we all get accepted to USC, are we going to be friends or are you guys going to forget me and never talk to me? :(

^ Who are you ?

@bubbletea True, school is a good distraction…haha. If only we could fast forward…

Where are ya’ll applying from?

Hmm I’ve been reading that if you dont’ get a spring grade request it is a sign you’re getting rejected. I haven’t gotten a request. Have you guys?

If its any relevance, I am completing three courses from USC’s general education requirements this semester. Should I turn in a midterm report from the common app just in case?

A little nervous now actually. I thought I had a good chance but I just don’t know now.

@bwwinthehouse
I don’t know if youre just a very pessimistic person or if you’re just messing with us haha

@uscco2016
I’m applying from saddleback college, in orange county
