Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

@that1guyy i didn’t say junior transfers didn’t get anything. i only specified sophomore transfers because that’s what my counselor was focusing on since i applied for sophomore year. she said usc wants all transfers to be comfortable and not lost, they won’t leave you behind or make you room with random people. they generally like to keep all transfers together, mostly sophomore transfer with sophomore transfer and juniors with juniors etc. we’ll have to see upon admittance, but c’mon usc won’t screw you over. she did mention they try to have transfers dorm so they can have the full experience and get to know campus better being its technically their first year.

is it may yet?

Lol my birthday is in May, so there is a chance may be the best or worst month of my life =[

Hey guys I just noticed that in my common application, under the Academics part, I only put the classes I took in Fall 2012 but not the classes I was planning on taking Spring 2013.
Does my official college transcript show the classes that I am taking for Spring 2013?

At least for my school, my transcript does not show courses I am currently taking. It only shows past courses that have a grade.

mine listed the spring courses as long as i was registered in them at the time i sent it.

hmmm… so sarah’s doesn’t show future courses but JR’s does.
great. I have no idea what mine shows. I emailed my admissions councelor. hopefully it’s not too late! :(

ur councelor can update your app for you. mine did because i listed a class i was waitlisted in that i did not end up getting into so she took it off for
me.

USC is still sending transfer decisions by mail right?

And do most applicants who have completed major pre-reqs and are applying for junior standing typically get a decision at the end of April to early May?

did the notification date get moved up to may? gosh i hope so, there’ less applicants this year so hopefully we can know sooner. all my friends have gotten their transfer acceptances already and i’m just waiting on sc! please may come soonerrrr!

@2016collegegirl, if you are responding because of my previous post I am only predicting that time window because older threads on usc transfer decisions from last year and the year before showed that decisions for SOME people came around that time.

Hey guys! So I was talking to a few people who applied a couple of years ago, and some of them heard back from SC around the same time as Uc Berkeley! I know that Berkeley’s decisions come out April 26th this year, so maybe some of us might hear back from SC too by then! Let’s cross our fingers! lol :)

Do any of you know personally of anyone actually being accepted into their second choice major? I have a hard time believing they have time to consider everyone for their second choice major if they get denied from their first choice major.

… (continuation of my last post above) So basically does anyone ACTUALLY know if we will be considered for our second choice major

On USC’s transfer brochure (http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/1314/TransferringToUSC_2013.pdf</a>)

It states under Q&A that they do:

Does the competitiveness
of my intended major affect
my chances?

In addition to the intended major,
we also consider every applicant’s
second-choice major. Even so, we
cannot always find spaces for the
many capable students who are
not approved for their intended
fields of study.

anyone get called or emailed lately from admissions?

ummm no ? Is it just me or does it say on USC Connect admissions status box that they’re going to review my application through the month of MAY or is it everyone else as well? Cause looking at last year many people said March …

may but im just wondering because i want to hear if they are getting close to final decisions

Hi y’all. Just curious. How many of you are applying without financial aid?
Also, if you dont mind sharing your essay and short answers? I know it’s a little late, but i am just a little curious on what did you write about.
I wrote about what classes i want it take and what i would do in the next 2 years if i were admitted and how i would utilize my time at USC for the reamaning of my college years.
Also, for the work experience short section, i wrote about my trip visting North Korea and how i got the idea of shooting a small film and prompted me to study film production. Going to North Korea was an unusual experience. This was when Kim Jung Ill was still alive. I also wrote about working on a cattle farm in Texas and writing options for the ranchers so they can protect their future profit. This is just a little thing if y’all dont mind sharing it.

@JR2013
I got a call from admissions about 3 weeks ago asking about the classes I’m currently taking.
