did they give u an approximated date youd hear by

Hey guys! I transferred to USC Marshall School of Business last year from a community college. I understand how you guys must be feeling and am willing to answer any questions that you may have! I know a lot about the process of transferring to Marshall but can answer any general questions as well.
Feel free to contact me!! :D

@judithkp
how many units did u have?
and what was ur gpa?

@judithkp and at what standing did u start usc at? sophmore or junior?

@filmandwriting
How many credits has you complete it prior of them calling you?

They didn’t say anything about when I’d get a decision. I’ve completed 47 units and I have 14 in progress.

I got an automated e-mail from USC this past weekend that said I had missing documents but listed NOTHING in the body of the e-mail. I know this is probably a hiccup, but I wrote my regional counselor and I’ve heard nothing (she’s been prompt). Little nerve wracking to be honest.

Hey guys do you think I should send a mid-term report in? They never asked but do you think sending one would increase my chances?

@that1guyy no i emailed my councelor asking about that and she said they wont accept them

Hello,
I transferred in with the maximum number of units: 64 units
GPA: 3.96
Admitted to USC Marshall School of Business with Junior standing
Received admission decision at the end of April, along with the USC Transfer Merit Scholarship (around $11K every year).

@judithkp thank you!
do u know many people to get admitted into a sophmore standing?

@judithkp What major pre reqs did you take while at Community College?

Did anyone else apply to Annenberg? If so, what major? I heard getting into Annenberg is so competitive =(

hello. i’m a junior transfer.

was wondering does everyone else’s application status show this? --

" We will be reviewing applications through the month of May, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify transfers by June 1st. Sometimes, in the course of our review of applications, we find that we need additional information. In such cases we will email a request. If you receive a request for more information, please respond promptly. In some cases we need to review final, spring term grades. If we request these of you, we will provide specific instructions on how to submit your spring grades to ensure speedy handling. In these cases, we make our final decisions later, typically by mid-July. "

if not, does this mean that I’m looking at a spring grade request if I get any reply from USC?

Hi, I am transferring from a UC and last week, I got contacted by USC for my Winter quarter grades and I sent in my winter grades promptly. Should I consider this as my “Spring Grade Request” because my “Spring” grades won’t be available until June 25th (ish)

@LILMISSJ i’ve had that same message on my account for awhile…anyone else have something similar? i don’t want to read too much into it, but i think it’s just self explanatory --if they need an SGR then they’ll ask for it if needed. but if no email, then they’re fine. i’ve been searching in past threads and have seen people post a similar message.

I’m pretty sure everyone has the same message

@veeyepea I’m a hopeful Annenberg applicant as well! I applied for the Journalism Digital and Print major. However, they like to admit those who have completed no more than 36 transferable units (according to the transfer admission guidelines: http://annenberg.usc.edu/Home/Prospective/Undergraduate/Jour/~/media/Admissions/Transfer%20Guidelines.ashx).

I am over that amount unfortunately. I applied for English as my second choice major. In the likelihood that I won’t be admitted to Annenberg, I hope they consider me for Dornsife!

@judithkp

Hi! How should I apply for “USC Transfer Merit Scholarship”?

I am also applying for Annenberg as a Digital and Print Journalism major. I wouldn’t sweat the transferable units thing unless you took a LOT of upper level courses they are worried won’t transfer (or may not approach the material the same way the department desires).

… In fact, when I visited, Admissions was relatively happy with my Gen Ed work and noted that Annenberg actually likes students to finish their foreign language requirements before entering the school. So that prompted me to accelerate my Spanish.
