Hey, I applied as a communications major. Does anybody know around when Annenberg students receive an admission decision?? Thanks in advance.
hey @maleficent95 & @summertime123! I applied to Annenberg as well. My first choice major is communication and 2nd choice is broadcast & digital journalism. Iāll have 65 transferable units by the end of this semester & already have all GEs done. My GPA is a 3.4 though Iāve heard some people have been accepted with a low GPA of 3.2 and some people with a high GPA like 3.7-4.0 have been rejected too. I know Annenberg is one of the most competitive schools within USC. Anyways good luck to you both! Let me know whenever you guys receive an admission decision or SGR please!
I applied for Civil Engineering but now want to do Mechanical Engineering. Should I wait until after the decision is made to request this? My essay is tailored to Civil Engineering so it might be off-putting if I ask now and they read that essay when they review my application.
@stevenjp you can change your major once youāre accepted, all viterbi students are free to change their majors within the college at anytime.
@lazevike. Oh thatās amazing. Iām also applying to UT Austin and you literally have to reapply at the engineering school to change your major there, it sucks
When will you hear back from dornsife?
Does USC automatically give merit aid to transfers? If so is it based on hs transcripts, college or both?
@TransferIntl I also applied to keck school of medicine bur could not find anyone else who has in the past so does anyone know about when they release admission decisions!?
@jfowl216ā i think it depends on your css profile and fafsa
Does anyone know how much not having Comp 2 hurts you? I am applying to Viterbi and I only have Comp 1 but I have the prerequisites for my intended major. Like do a significant amount of students actually get admitted without it?
Hey everyone, a quick question for Marshall applicants out thereā¦
I applied with a 3.78 GPA for Marshall and I gotten As on all the major requirements except a C in Calculus 1 last spring. Now Iām sort of in a panic because I read somewhere that a C in calc is pretty much like an automatic reject on their end.
Is anyone here in a similar situation as me, or heard of anything similar in prior USC transfer threads regarding this??
Iām taking Calc 2 now which Iām doing significantly better (might even get an A) and I wrote down really strong extra curricular activities on my application, but Iām just afraid USC is going to plain turn me down before taking anything else into account just cuz of that Cā¦
I emailed sc asking if they received my 2014 fall grades and they said: āwe expect to have decision letters mailed by April 1stā idk if they made a mistake or what cos I thought that was for freshman, but I look at the old transfer decision threads and see that ppl were getting decisions as early as the end of march idk what up
@bobisweird That made me super nervous, but I hope itās true! Iād love to hear back from USC by April.
Anyone whoās sent their transcript a long time ago and itās still showing up as not received call them! I just called them and they said they have it even though itās not showing up as received.
@fallenwinter I think have the opposite problem haha in my āReceived Documentsā it says āTranscript: High Schoolā yet āRequired Documentsā still says it needs āHigh School Transcriptā. A month ago I asked admissions if they had my high school transcript and said they yes but when I contacted them last week, they said they still need my high school transcript. So confused!
Is it a advantage to transfer from a 4 year university rather then a CC? Like are they more lenient GPA wise? One of my friends was telling me this.
@aubreygiveshugsā That is really weird. I would give them another call if I were you and if they still say they donāt have it just resend it.
@bobisweird if you look at your USC portal, it says that they should be releasing decsions for transfers by June 1st.
@jucery13 From the stats I heard from my brother when he was a USC student for all four years, he told me that mostly the transfers come from CC. But overall I think it depends heavliy on your gpa rather than from where you originally came from.
@smoon12 What is your stat?
