@transferintl transferring from Orange coast college, high school gpa: 3.8, college GPA:4.0, units so far: 40 but I am a freshman, also legacy to usc and volunteer at hospital
Guys I have a question.
How do you check your application status?
When I go on my youUSC website I can log in and everything, but it only says 3 things.
1.Respond to communication from USC
2. Join our mailing list
3. Sign up for campus tour
I wanna check my application status how do I do this?
@TonyStark93 That does not seem right, there should be more links and to view your application status, you should be able to simply click on “Check your application status”. Call USC’s admissions office if you are having any problems.
Guys I just found out my UC GPA is 3.48
USC GPA is probably lower since I went to like 6 different schools and USC factors in every class for the overall GPA calculation.
What are my chances of getting into Economics or PPD??
@TonyStark93 Well thats below the average for accepted students so unfortunately you have below average chances to get in. Not impossible though
@TonyStark93 Not sure. I’ve been to two colleges, the first I had a 2.9 GPA and when I applied to USC, my second college GPA is 4.0. I’ve read of students who have had a low 2.5-3.0 GPA at one school and who have averaged around 3.7 at their second school. nailed their essays, and got in. I’m hoping I can be one of those students, but I know it’s really an uphill battle! Good luck.
did anyone else get an sgr? just got mine yesterday and i am a freshman transfer applicant.
Did you receive your SGR in the mail or on the YouSC portal? @njoi123
I got an email from them, but I might have got mail too. Idk my parents would have got it, but they would not bother to tell me hahahahah. Do you know what an sgr implies? And if its good to get one this early?
@njoi123 do you mind if I ask what your stats are?
3.8, freshman transferring from a uc, good ec’s, great essays. now can someone answer my questions?
@njoi123 It’s very standard for them to ask for spring grades, so no need to worry about that.
Do any of you guys know how it works when you applied to programs from different school. I applied for Business Admin which fall under Marshal as my 1st choice, and Psychology which is under dornslife as my second choice. Ive heard that dornslife gives out the acceptances earlier, so am i likely to hear from them first, or do you hear from your first choice first, and then if your rejected you hear from your 2nd? or how does it work?
yea but this early?
@njoi123 you mean you are a sophomore transfer? Well, if you have 35 units or less, you have a higher chance of being sgred. Its not bad, but do your best this semester.Though it is strange to have sgr this early.
Hi fellow USC transfers! You all seem plenty knowledgable. Can someone chance me please? I’m applying for fall 2015. Here are my stats. I really don’t know how I compare to other transfers and it doesn’t really help that there isn’t much info about transfers into USC Price haha
Applied to USC Price School- PPD Major
College transferring from: Community College in NC
Entering as: Junior(hopefully)

Letters of Recommendation: One from my English 111/112/Brit Lit professor
I have 3 W’s in my first year, which I know is incredibly frowned upon at USC. I know…awful. Two of them were art classes. I thought I wanted to do Graphic Design but those classes completely turned me off. In a way I’m glad I took them because I was able to figure out early on in my college career that Graphic Design just wasn’t my forte. With the amount I work sometimes, I didn’t want to overwhelm myself with classes that really have no benefit to me in the long run. The last class was a 1 credit hour college transfer success course and that was in the same semester I was offered a job as a leasing agent therefore I had no extra time to deal with classes like that.
If I don’t get in I will be sad… of course… but I will take a year off to work a ton and save up since LA is pretty expensive compared to good ole NC. I know that if I do get accepted I’ll probably defer to spring semester since the move out to LA is going to be costly and time consuming. I also applied to some state schools here in NC but I applied to their architecture programs(four more years if I go with architecture ugh) and I’m just still on the edge about everything. If anyone has any tips on how I can improve for next year in the event that I don’t get accepted, I would love to hear them.
@theloveclub You are as strong a candidate as anyone. GPA is up to their standards and you have a lot of prereqs which is important. Of course with college admissions anything can happen though, I know somebody who got rejected by Boston University but accepted to an Ivy so you never know for sure
Anybody know if they’re more lenient with GPA regarding 4 year institutions? I have a 3.77 at Rutgers (3.4 first semester, 3.9 and 3.9 the next two) but I’m worried that it’ll pale in comparison to the higher GPAs from CCs. I’m applying for Viterbi
@lancaster29 You’re above the average GPA for admitted students so no, it won’t require “leniency” to admit you
Dam guys it’s almost gonna be 2 months since we submitted our apps, how are you guys doing in your spring classes?
