Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@bobisweird to answer your question mine says 04/16/15 7:53 - hope 2015 is a better year for you than 2012 was.

What a rough day … I got waitlisted at UCD and UCSD as a 4.0 CS major applicant. I also saw a ton of 3.8+ GPA engineering and STEM-related applicants in the UCD thread get waitlisted. Really wondering what is going on over at Davis because I’m honestly shocked. UCSD not so much since I’m missing a few pre-reqs and SD has been VERY impacted for CS majors for years.

Really hoping on USC now which has been my #1 all along… One thing I know for certain is that whether I’m accepted or rejected, I’ll probably cry like a baby!

@bobisweird Mine says 4/12/15. What does that mean? I’m an Annenburg applicant

@zettasyntax congrats on getting into UCLA - USC is the best and worth the wait!

I feel you on that one @HappyLifeMachine I just hate how it’s this waiting game for USC

@zettasyntax Same with me. USC is my top choice. What’s your major you applied for to USC?

@zettasyntax Same with me. USC is my top choice. What’s your major you applied for to USC?

USC is my top choice too! @jamiethuy @zettasyntax I’m applying for Psychology in Dornsife.

@jamiethuy I applied as anthropology and sociology. I had applied as undeclared and linguistics last year. I want to ultimately switch into linguistics though if I am accepted. I just have a lot of anthropology courses that I took such as linguistic anthropology, so I figured I might have a better shot getting in with anthro instead.

@zettasyntax Same! I applied as anthropology (Global Studies) and sociology (NGO’s and Social Change). Are they easy majors to get into at USC compared to others?

@Msmclagirl I have absolutely no clue to be honest. I saw people that were accepted with somewhat low GPA’s into Marshall last year, so anything can happen with any major. I just know that a lot of success stories on my community college’s website involve people who transferred to USC as sociology majors, so I do feel guilty about tacking that one on and not linguistics again. I was just scared after getting rejected for that last year =\

Hate to be a downer but after today’s waitlists I’ve gotta take a break from admission decisions and all of this and just focus on completing the spring quarter with a good GPA, otherwise I’m going to lose focus for sure. So I’m going to take a hiatus from the boards for a few weeks (unless USC decides to dish out a decision before then).

See you guys at the end of April-ish, good luck to you all and most importantly FIGHT ON!!

I’m not sure what the prepared date means. Any guessers ?

Hey guys I was hoping someone could help me rate my chances of admissions or this fall. I applied to Marshall with about a 3.5 GPA (a disappointing result of a poor first semester of JC) I wrote a quite honestly amazing admissions essay and even included an addendum to explain my difficulties of my first semester. I am an AFA intern with Wells Fargo Advisors with an intent to use my USC degree to further my career in investment banking. I appreciate any feedback.

Got rejected from UCLA with my 3.78 GPA from Rutgers University, applying for CS - I’m basically all in on USC now. Feeling a little more confident though because I actually meet the prereqs for their program and they use a semester system, but also even more anxious than ever since this is basically my last chance to transfer. UGH, this wait is terrible…

@emwrbrtn @zettasyntax hopefully we will all get into usc dornsife. My major is bio sci so im kinda scared too. I miss lots of their general eds requirements.

I am going to Vandy instead, but I still want to see what USC could offer.

@USCGirl17 i am an annenburg applicant as well. would you mind letting me know your stats?

Oh man I’m so anxious.
Just got rejected from 4/6 UC’s I applied to this year.
Waiting on Irvine & Berkeley with a heavy heart. (Please so I have somewhere to go…)
USC seems like a long shot now…

Major: Psych
GPA: 3.67
