Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@jaxtransfer @arielirby same my oasis isn’t working either I’ve tried so many times… I hope its not a bad sign ;(

Well it means we haven’t been accepted…YET. @arielirby @jucery13
UCSD had a housing trick that seems similar. Some peoples message changed a week before mine changed the night before! All with the new changed message were accepted. Moral of the story don’t lose hope we could get access day of!

Having access to Oasis does not mean anything. There are people who had access to oasis last year and did not get accepted.

How many applications do you guys think the admission counselors review each day?

I’m definitely proof that Oasis access means nothing :stuck_out_tongue: Again, it just lets you know a decision is on the way.

I’m not able to access Oasis and I was admitted. So yeah, it probably means nothing!

When should we expect Dornsife to start sending out decisions?

@RAHforHEE may I ask when your decision was post marked?

This was going on last year: people were guessing acceptance by stars audit report being filled out. Does anyone with oasis access have a filled out stars report? This means with major written out in the report.

I have a dilemma, so during High School I took a class at a community college but I never dropped it and got an F. I sent that into the college I am currently attending. So I was wondering if USC will see the F I got if I send in the transcript from the college I am currently attending but I don’t send in a transcript from the community college?

@Mick96 You know, I thought I got an SGR on April 21-23, but I went back on my old CC profile and I actually got my SGR on May 20th - yikes. I would hope decisions like that come out faster or that the next batch would happen this week or something.

@bobisweird I remember that as well. That stars report thing was incredibly accurate. If people saw a restrictions update and didn’t see their stars fill out within three days or so, it meant rejection. Some told me not to believe that, but I was indeed rejected. RAHforHEE seems to be the only one accepted so far and doesn’t have access yet, so I’m not sure if anyone can verify if this is the case this year as well.

@vlxxy1 It’s pretty hard to say. If you sent a transcript from your current CC, I doubt they could send an official transcript of yours from another school, but USC might have a way of finding out. For instance, CSULB wanted official transcripts and that they would request them on my behalf. Without turning anything in, they were able to verify my grades. I’m not sure if USC does the same thing (check something like the National Clearinghouse) to verify transcripts, but they might. It’s hard to say.

@zettasyntax My restrictions says February 3rd… does that mean that’s the date they looked at my application? I thought they were still looking at high school applications in the beginning of February?

@Mick96 It most likely means the date that they received your application. Like “oh, Mick submitted their application, let me start a file.” If it changes anytime soon (April or May) then that means something is on the way, so check your email or YouSC as much as want because something will show up shortly afterwards, if it’s anything like last year.

@zettasyntax This is kinda confusing, but during my senior year at high school I sent in all my transcripts to USC including the community college where I would later receive a F ( the first semester I got an A but my second semester I got an F and because I got rejected from USC, I of course didn’t send in the transcript that would say I got an F). But I am freaking out because I checked the received documents recently on You.usc and it says it received a transcript from the community college where I got an F. Could it be possible that it is the first transcript I sent in from High School and they still have records of it? Thanks for replying.

@vlxxy1 That could be the case. I was rejected from USC last year and they still have a record of everything I sent in (including my failed attempt at an appeal). So it could very well be that what you’re seeing is the old transcript you sent. My USC ID number is also the same, so it seems like USC doesn’t really start fresh for people that are re-applying; they kept track of past documents/records sent in.

So, question. In my high school years, I really didn’t do so well. I failed two classes in my senior year because I had some family issues going on and I couldn’t bring myself to work through classes with everything going on.

At my first year of CC, (this semester completing my freshman year), I’ll have a 3.92 GPA (assuming that I get straight As this semester which I think I can do!). I just want to be reassured that they won’t take my high school GPA into account too much and they’ll look at my upward trend… I only got one B last semester, A’s in my winter session, and hopefully straight As this semester.

This waiting is killing me! My CC doesn’t end until the first week of June so I won’t know until mid July!! Is anyone else in the same boat as me?

@RAHforHEE , also, did your acceptance come in the mail or online? (sorry if you answered this earlier)

@elmhsstudent I’m not sure if this is of any help considering what ultimately happened with me, but USC sent me an SGR and I didn’t even have a HS GPA. I was only in high school for two months and though I had one report card, I never finished those courses and earned credit. I took the SGR as USC almost accepting me, so I don’t think they pay a lot of attention to high school if you’ve nearly earned 60 semester units in CC. My CC doesn’t end until June either, so that made last year a very long wait.

Wait, really? 60 units? I thought it was 30 units… @zettasyntax

Oh, you’re right. I was thinking about being considered a junior (and I even think I got that wrong, that’s 64 I believe). Anyway if you have 30ish done, I don’t think it’d be a problem
