Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

With all the changes this year, I have no idea if a restrictions change means the same thing. The stars report being filled out is the only definite hint of being accepted before a golden letter reaches your mailbox, but those seem to be shipping out faster than ever before.

I can also add that last year, my restrictions changed, but no stars report. 3 days after it changed, I was rejected. I do recall that my restrictions changed when I appealed, but in that case it took weeks to be rejected again. It’s certainly possible that a restrictions change could just mean some type of SGR as well.

my report says it was prepared on the 29th? but it says error on it so i think i was rejected.

@ForeverGymnast21 Had you looked at your stars report before then? It typically just stays with the first date you looked at the report if you were rejected. What do you see? Last year some students reported problems and didn’t see anything because their browsers weren’t loading the site properly; I think Chrome was one of the more notorious ones.

@zettasyntax I looked at it way back in March once but that was it. I’m using safari

@ForeverGymnast21 try using chrome, as they suggest.

@ForeverGymnast21 So you can probably see the graph/chart just fine then huh? I hope you see some yellow bars there tomorrow. It would fill out for people in the very early morning hours. Or maybe your restrictions change is an SGR if you haven’t gotten one yet.

@zettasyntax oasis is so confusing! Haha I’ll probably just wait for something to come in the mail, I don’t see a graph tho, nothing is really popping up, it just says error I can’t really see much on the audit report page

@invalid99 I tried chrome a few minutes ago and the page didn’t load at all, this is so frustrating ! Haha

Suggestion for everyone, please double check that USC receives certain documents you want them to have, I talked to my admission adviser and notified him that I have an internship and he claimed that he would add it to my application. I called them today to double check on it (3 months later), admissions said that they never got anything. I had to upload my offer letter to you.usc.edu. Just a little friendly tip from the trouble I faced today!

I know, I remember a late trick involved something with oasis financial aid and that if you saw an option in financial aid disappear, it also mean rejected. They shouldn’t give us access to it :stuck_out_tongue: Yeah, with Chrome you need to click on some sort of shield in the url and click load unsafe scripts.

@zettasyntax when did you receive your rejection last year ? Like the date you got it?

@bobisweird It was on a Friday, June 27th 2014. I had received an SGR though, so that explains why it was such a late date.

@zettasyntax Do you know if USC reviews applications during the weekend too?

@zettasyntax I see

ughhh

@Mick96 No idea, sorry :frowning: My guess is that they just work a typical 5 day week and make decisions during those days.

@megamegss The stars report starts with the date you first look at it. Did you check it out in March? It fills out during hours that most people aren’t awake, so if your restrictions just changed today, it didn’t have a chance to change yet :stuck_out_tongue:

oh… @zettasyntax yeah… that’s what i don’t remember right now :frowning: I don’t know when it was exactly I first checked it! Wait, why does it fill out during those hours?! :frowning: this is stressing me out man

@megamegss Things may have changed, but I first looked at my stars on April 5th and that’s the date it currently has. Well, last year, it would update for people like at 3am in the morning and latest I recall was 6am almost 7am, so it usually changed quite early for those that were accepted. It’s apparently filled out by computer/is an automatic process, so maybe that’s why it’s filled out in the early morning.

@zettasyntax okay… thanks for your replies. So, if it doesn’t change by tomorrow morning it means sgr or rejection?
