@madlion21 I haven’t gotten a SGR
m,y highschool gpa is terrible… thats why i wanted to ask you do you think i still have a chance?
@TonyStark93 There must be someone else besides you with this same situation wish they would jump in here I’m starting to regret having access to oasis myself haha going to call my parents to see if they will give me what the accountant did for their taxes even as an extension it will be enough for my financial aid to update and if I can submit it this weekend and have the same changes you got then that will be closer to meeting your theories as to why your dates are closer than jan or feb dates…keep up the faith
@USCwanabe Oh that’s what you’re concerned because of h.s. grades my sister didn’t have close to a 4.0 in h.s. I’m sure they still looked at that but because she rocked it her first year in college like you have it got her in she didn’t have any other pulls but her major was different from yours be confident that you’ve done so well upward trends seem to have a lot of weight in decision making if you read the past few years threads.
i friggen love you I really want to transfer out of psu… Here it seems like i don’t fit in to the social environment and i don’t want to be here
So hear ya I’m from CA last final next week leaving the East Coast coming home no complaints other than want to be closer to home and have many friends in LA if your current school isn’t the right fit then it’s good you’re leaving it - besides usc did you apply anywhere else? I’m SC or bust hope we both get accepted my sister cried when she graduated last spring didn’t want to leave she had friends that took a 5th year so they didn’t have to leave usc early haha
@madlion21 @TonyStark93 and anyone else wondering about OASIS, I think I might be able to give some more info… I am a Marshall applicant, on the TTP from two years ago, and applying to start 2015 as a junior. I submitted my application on 01/31/15 at about 11:55 PM. I have never received any communication from USC about my application, either by phone, email, or portal, although I have talked to my original TTP contact several times in the process. When I first logged in to OASIS on 03/27/15 I believe (using MMDDYY I believe by the way), my Restrictions page had a date of 02/04/15. My STARS Interactive Audit showed a Prepared date of 03/27/15, and there was a red Error message in the main message screen below the graphs. No major was listed.
When I logged in to check my OASIS on 04/28/15 at around 8:30 PM, the Restrictions page had changed to a date of 04/28/15 at 2:15 PM. Based on everything I read from last year, this changing of Restrictions date indicates a decision has been made, but does not indicate what type of decision. My STARS Report and STARS Interactive Audit had not changed at all.
The next morning, 9:00 AM on 04/29/15, I logged in to OASIS to check again. My Restrictions date still showed 04/28/15 at 2:15 PM. However, my STARS Report had filled in, showing a Prepared date of 04/29/15 at 2:33 AM. It went on to say “STARS-Degree Progress Report; Bachelor of Science; Business Administration” and followed with a completed STARS report for Fall 2015. My Interactive Audit Report had the same information. When I went to the Course Transfer tab of OASIS and selected Transfer Credit Report, I chose “I just want to see my Transfer Credit Report” and a Transfer Credit Report loaded, whereas before 04/29/15 it just had a red error message.
Based on all of this and what I read from last year, I believe this to mean that I have been accepted. However, my portal still shows no changes. And I have been traveling away from home for the past month, unable to check my mail, so I have no idea whether my package has come yet. But based on the OASIS signs, I would say the decision has probably already been made.
Regarding whether financial aid has anything to do with this, I would say definitely not in my case. I submitted FAFSA and CSS way back on the deadline (March 1st I think it was?) and didn’t do any YouUSC Additional Info requests until week before last, when I completed some of them but not all. So basically, I haven’t done all of the fin aid stuff yet but my OASIS is still changed.
I hope this stuff helps a bit!! Congrats to everyone getting their decisions, I am dying to hold that yellow envelope in my hands!
Wow sorry this is so long, but I just wanted to present a complete case study for those who are wondering. I can post stats if anyone wants them.
P.S. Nice to meet all of you! I’ve been stalking the thread obsessively since January, checking it every hour, but just haven’t jumped in yet. Everyone has been so helpful though!
@20tigger17 my restrictions changed from 2/04/15 to 4/28/15 but my audit report says error still… So does that mean rejection? Or hopefully at least an SGR?
@ForeverGymnast21 I wish I could say for sure… I don’t think that automatically means either one of those, because I know last year sometimes it was several days before people saw their Audit Reports change. Also, this year it seems like the “signs” on the portals that were fairly reliable last year are all out of whack. I do know that it seems the portals are lagging a little behind for most people, so I would say it’s not something to worry about yet, it could just be taking a few days.
Also, I forgot to mention a couple of other things: first, my Audit Report only has my AP test scores from high school, none of my college work at all. I have no idea why second, I was a freshman applicant a couple of years ago, and due to my TTP status my transfer application has been very closely linked to my freshman info throughout, so it almost seems like my STARS report populated with my freshman application info only. I have a feeling the whole STARS report thing isn’t quite as reliable this year as it was last year.
Hope this helps!
Does anyone have any info on how to check Oasis through Yousc or any of the reports that everyone is talking about through the normal portal? I remember reading something about being able to do that- any input would be appreciated,
@20tigger17 - excellent info- thank you for taking the time to write it. I’m sure its going to help alot of people who are able to access oasis.
I talked to the admissions ambassadors and they said oasis is for current sc students, but it seems like transfer students that have applied have access to it?
Has anyone else gotten an SGR report? Do they send them all at the same time or do they tend to scatter them? This wait is killing me hahahaha
Since getting my acceptance, I can now access oasis.
Additionally, since many of you seem to be concerned, I don’t remember my exact high school gpa, but I do know I was not an exceptional student. It was probably around a 3.0, give or take. Additionally, through my now accessible Oasis, my CC GPA based on the classes that transferred was a 3.67. Although, it really should be a 3.78, but I never resent USC my updated transcript after a professor mistakenly put a B instead of an A.
So I still can’t log on to oasis
Can anyone help me out… I received a notice in the mail from USC a couple of days ago. It did not contain a definitive yes or no, rather they want to see my spring 2015 grades before an official decision. What exactly does this mean ?? Is this am inclination that they are interested in accepting me or does this frequently happen ?? Thank you
Do you guys think that USC starts looking at application by school or region? Because I know they have a limited amount of spaces per school
Is OASIS only available to applicants who have applied before? This is my first year applying and I can’t log in.
@TedNicholas It means they want to see the progress you make this semester. Im not sure how common they are,but at least it isn’t a flat out rejection. After you send your grades you can still get accepted or rejected. As long as your grades have a consistent upward slope Im sure you will be fine.
@acole16 thank you for the insight. This semester I took a heavy course load so out of 5 classes, I might have 3 A’s, 1 A- and a B+. Hopefully thats good enough for acceptance. As of now I have a 4.0 GPA as an honors college student with an accounting internship in NYC and involvement in 4 clubs (president in one, PR manager in another, sophomore representative in another, and co-eboard member in another). This semester is killing me. Have u heard back from USC yet @acole16
