I was just sayin'

Besides, the point of my original statement was that 3.7s existed in relative abundance.

Essays: HORRIBLE lol. I wrote them the day they were due

Porfolio: Hopefully this is what got me in but i've only taken an intro
to art course.

CollegeConsumed: Congratulations on your acceptance!! Are you planning to attend? Hey, I'm from Orange County too, as u can tell from my "Location."

shiba411 ... come on now, dont hate on the The OC, its a bad show, but who watches TV to get smarter haha ... its nice to hear that more girls from Orange County are getting into USC, we need MORE ... and congratulations to all who have gotten in and good luck to all those who are waiting to hear

Yea, I'm in! Though its my best friend's top choice and she still hasn't heard, so I really don't want to tell her yet..

yay! i got in except when i told ppl eveyone thought i was talking about the university of south carolina.

I CAN LOG INTO EXPLORE!

I am so happy right now! Now I just need to wait for the mail!

It is very obvious to me that USC's pattern of sending out acceptances is very non-sequential, and I think anyone else can hear at anytime, so don't worry. I just was able to log onto explore now, which means they sent it out today or yesterday, so I think they're sending new ones out everyday.

Good luck to everyone else!

we need a "USC Class of 2010" sub-thread, like on the UCLA board. How can we request one from the mods???!!

[] Why I think I was accepted/deferred: I've done so much **** in high school, I have decent grades, and I did well on the SATs. I did OK on the SAT IIs, especially considering that I haven't taken one for 2 years.
[*] Other thoughts: I'm really happy right now. Still don't know where I'm going yet.

Guidez: You can always try e-mailing or PMing the moderators about it, but I noticed that the only schools that have those threads are the Ivies and the CC Top Universities.

Congrats, daksmack. Your grades are only 'decent' by this board's/top colleges' standards. In reality they're quite good. :)

Great work to all who've been accepted thus far.

At a school where the top kid has a 4.97 cum, my grades are only viewed as decent.

That's weird, I thought you were in the top 10% of your school. Good job anyway, though.

Stats:

* SAT: 1510 or 2160.... 790 CR, 720 Math, 650 Writing
* SAT IIs: 720 Math IC, 640 Bio
* GPA: 96.082 weight gpa, 92.5 UW
* Rank: 26 out of 291

Subjective:

* Essays: My regular admissions one was pretty good, if I do say so myself. My CTV ones... one of my creative essays (the character sketch) was a piece of crap, because I had no idea what to write. I'm good at improvising though, so maybe that helped. My other one was really emotional, and I really liked my personal statement.
* Teacher Recs: They must have been pretty good. My french teacher wrote an extensive 2 pg rec which was most likely positive, and then I had my old english teacher write one as well, which was definitely positive though probably short. For CTV, I sent the french teacher one again, then had my drama teacher write one (which when I read it made me cry), and a friend of mine who has been highly involved in my films which was poorly written, but had good content.
* Counselor Rec: Probably very positive though maybe not quite specific
* Hook/Awards (if any): Early graduate, if that counts

Location/Person:

* State or Country: NY

Other Factors:

* Extracurriculars: lots of theatre and singing junk. short films on my own time
* Why I think I was accepted/rejected: Hmm. A theme running through my application, raw enthusiasm in my essays. a good stroke of luck.
* Other thoughts: I can't believe I got into the production program for film, I feel so damn lucky. However, I have no idea if I'm going there or not, I'm so confused!

SAT: 2270 composite, 740 math 740 cr 790 writing

SAT IIs: didn't take them

GPA: 3.91 weighted, and probably around a 3.7 unweighted

Rank: school doesn't rank

Subjective:

Essays: probably one of the best personal essays i have ever written

Teacher Recs: not sure (do other schools let the students read them?) i got letters from my ap english teacher, my ap chem teacher, and the school chaplain (i go to a Christian school)

Counselor Rec: she was brand new this year so i have no idea

Hook/Awards (if any): national merit commended scholar, junior class vice president, tons and tons of extra curriculars, and i wrote about how in the 13 years i lived in california, i took for granted the sunshine and the yearlong spring, how i've grown since then, and how i'm ready to come home

Location/Person:

State or Country: Ohio (for high school)

School Type: private, around 450 kids

Why I think I was accepted/rejected: definitely my essays and personal statements combined with my sat scores, i was nervous about my gpa (i'm a solid B student, although i've taken a total of 9 AP courses)

Other thoughts: i was shaking when i spotted the packet in my mailbox, i haven't been able to think of anything else and i was so scared as this last week of march approached. but good luck to everyone who has yet to hear, i really do believe that there are still tons and tons of acceptances in the mail!!

Other thoughts: FIGHT ON!

For those still waiting for their decision, I volunteer with USC Admissions and all I can say is BE PATIENT. The rate at which decision letters are being mailed is determined literally by the rate at which our printers can crank out decision letters and our limited staff can stuff your packets. You will all receive decision letters by very early April. We're working as hard as we can and have a lot to work on to prepare for you all to attend USC. I know it's a terrible wait, but being an extremely popular school to apply to, things take time.

Well I havent heard back yet and ive practically given up hope, but the deal is i have a 3.8 and a 1900 but i got the crew team coach to write me a letter of recommendation even though it is a club team. I know im gonna get denied with a small bulk mail letter that says YOU SUCK. Anywyas back to my original question if they didnt ask for your midyear report are you automatically in the YOU SUCK pile? thanks guys
