It doesn’t say anything new, I called and they said they were done

@juanpisv do you know if anybody got in through the wait list

No one, the lady said “the wait list just didn’t work this year”

@mctech What differed in your second appeal from your first appeal? I saw @135pipe say that his/her first appeal was mostly emotional while his/her second appeal focused on an error being made. I just submitted my first appeal today and am waiting to hear back. How long did it take for y’all? I submitted my transcripts yesterday rush delivery, so they will probably be there Monday or Tuesday of next week. Just sort of wondering how long it took for you guys. My appeal definitely focused on an error being made in my evaluation and not just whining about my dreams being crushed. I submitted a lot of supporting documentation. If my appeal gets rejected, I feel that its really the strongest case I could have made and I don’t know how I’d improve it to appeal again.

It took three days or two for my second appeal to be accepted. It will be very fast trust me

Good luck keep us posted.

Sorry to all wait list applicants but you guys can appeal if you want

@135pipe Thank you, I will! I’ve worked really hard to get into UT Austin and I actually live in Austin currently, so having to transfer somewhere else would really be awful. Fingers crossed!

@carissadean my first appeal was like a two page letter with resumes and 2 letters of rec. denied. 2nd time…i just submitted my transcript again with a JUST a paragraph. I sent in my transcript and appeal and LITERALLY got accepted the following morning. It was really fast.

@workspock ^

@mctech
I dint know you appealed twice like me. Wow we are lucky.
How much financial aid did you get from them

@135pipe Yeah i did appeal twice. I didn’t get any. Then again I didn’t apply for any financial aid

Aww crap you should I have done fafsa I am not sure if it’s too late now

@mctech Thanks for the info! Now I’m worried, because I sent in a lot of information. I felt conflicted about that anyhow, because I imagine they are going through a lot of paperwork and thought they might skim over my appeal letter if it seemed arduous. However, I did go see an admissions adviser at UT Austin and he told me to include as much information as I could in my appeal. I had a mistake made on one of my transcripts in my original application. I tried to confirm both with the school it came from that the correct information was sent on my transcript as well as with UT. So I included an explanatory letter, a new transcript, and the email in which I was told that the transcripts were correct only to realize (after I’d been rejected) that they were not. I also sent in my updated transcript from my current school (I’ve attended two community colleges) that show I got straight A’s this last semester that raised my GPA from a 3.68 to a 3.75. So I really feel that my appeal was very strong, but we shall see. I’m so nervous!!!

@135pipe Did you get good financial aid? I’m really worried about that too, since I’m not sure if they reserve a lot of aid for individuals who get in on appeal late in the acceptance season.

Yes 15k in grants about after the real estimate 3-4k in loans

Good luck @carissadean
Me and @mctech contacted Kendra Ishop on Facebook. Not sure if that helps but good luck. Please keep us posted. I want this thread to give next year applicants some hope.

@135pipe I never contacted Kendra on facebook

@135pipe What exactly did you discuss with her on Facebook?

I basically told her how much I wanted tone at ut. Explained my story basically i sent my appeal to her lol. The. Got rejected then I appealed again and they said yes

I am going to Texas a&m

Now that I have your attention
DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT CONTACT HER
Maybe my persistent messages was why the first appeal was a no. Just forget about contacting her I don’t want you to not get in because of that. Just do your appeal and hurrryyyyy time is running out. Good luck
That is all lol

My bad @mctech
