OFFICIAL UT AUSTIN APPEAL THREAD/ WAIT-LISTED APPLICANT

Hopefully this week no news is good news.
But call if no reply soon just to see what’s up

My appeal went from being in review to being approved today.

Yes woooooooooo^^^^^ congrats. See I told you guys you should appeal you have nothing to lose

Haha. I called the admission office and they told me that having your appeal approved just means that they will reconsider you. Doesn’t mean I got in or anything.

Oh oops don’t want to jinx it now

@135pipe Haha. It’s all good. I’m appealing with a new GPA. I went from a 3.36 to a 3.61. Trying to get into EE (first choice) or UGS (second choice). I personally think my personal achievements stand out more than my GPA.
Calc I: AP Credit
Calc II: A
Engineering Physics I: A
Engineering Physics II: In Progress/Should make an A
4th Place in Texas at the TEAMS engineering competition with my team.

My application went back into review today. Just want to get in. I’ll worry about my EE major later.

That’s a great improv bet my gpa went up less than that and I got in. Was that on your appeal?if not send the documents or call them to put that on your appeal. That is very important info that can really help you.

You are really smart ee!!! Wow. I applaud you guys working with something you can’t really see

@135pipe Yea. That was the main part of my appeal. If you don’t mind me asking… What were your stats before and after your appeal? And what major did you apply to?

Undecided
3.57 gpa 3.62 gpa afterwards
Voted mayor
Won debate tournaments

Funny thing my second appeal was done half-heartedly. I wrote one sentence stating how gpa moved up and rank from
55/624 to
40/595

I specifically asked for undecided in first appeal.

But mctech‌ appealed and got into mccombs so I don’t think major has a lot of impact but better safe than sorry lol

@135pipe Haha. Thanks!

Oh, ok. That’s a good rank jump! Congrats on getting in! In my appeal, I requested to be considered for UGS if engineering is full or if I still don’t qualify. I have friends that got into engineering with higher GPAs than me, but haven’t completed Engineering Physics I or II, while I’m currently enrolled in EPII. So being qualified shouldn’t be a problem. I should actually be given priority according to their engineering transfer guide. It’s just my GPA that’s holding me back and that’s because of one C and that class wasn’t even engineering related.

Well since they know how hard engineering is they will go easier on you i believe.

Bump

@ElectricFlux‌ Are you a freshman applicant or a transfer student?

@123456B I’m a transfer student.

I don’t think transfer get multiple tries to appeal. I believe only freshman applicants can appeal more than once. I am sorry. I haven’t heard of successful transfer appeals only freshman. You could apply for spring 2015 and transfer all your credits

@carissadean‌ any news
