Anyone know if they always ask for extra items if they’re considering accepting an applicant? I got the green check pretty early on and haven’t received a request for any additional info. Maybe that means I was rejected right away. I thought my application was relatively competitive, but maybe not. 3.55+ GPA with 60 credits from the VCCS, all A’s and B’s except one C in a history class from a couple semesters ago, completed Calc I, II, III, a couple general engineering classes, Chemistry, and all of the gen ed reqs. anyone know if that’s competitive for transfer to UVA’s SEAS?

I FINALLY got the green check on Tuesday. I’m feeling pretty at ease about the whole thing, strangely enough. I had a professor send in a recommendation letter mid-march, so that’s probably why it took so long for them to make a decision for me. Whatever happens, happens, but I hope it’s good news!

@tndud

I personally haven’t sent in a mid-term. I certainly do think it would help if you are a freshman like me.

Also, don’t be upset about UNC, they accept a decent amount of kids off the transfer waitlist compared to the first year waitlist. You still have a chance.

I am going to send in my midterm report in tomorrow just to show them I do have A’s in my Accounting and Economics classes (the two important ones in applying for Mcintire). Hopefully it is not too late.

are you sending in only two grades?
im thinking about sendin 4 out of 6

@SolarPowered did you send all of the financial aid materials? I looked at the 2011 transfer thread before.One person there who had nothing on the to-do list got accepted because his financial aid application was complete.
For the VT, I know seven persons applied for VT got accepted; not sure if they got straight into their program. I know one person who applied for Engineering received an email from VT saying that he need to take some classes in the summer in order to getting in Engineering program.

@11112013UVA: Thanks. That information is encouraging because I did submit all the financial aid materials that are required for my situation.

@Tndud

Ye I plan on only sending two grades (Economics and Accounting) out of four classes (Spanish and Adv English Comp) only because my Spanish is online and my teacher teaches at another community college. I don’t see my English teacher until next week, so I will not be able to get him to sign.

And I will pass Adv English and Spanish with either A’s or high B’s.

i just called admisson and a lady said we can even send one or two grades if available. And she said mid-term grades will help us as long as they are good.
So im thinking about sending in fine arts eng2 biology and statistics
hope it will give me a better chance
let’s keep each other updated with something new

@Tndud

Thanks for the update. I guess I will be sending them in tomorrow. Are you also applying to Mcintire?

@pete

mcintire? wow sounds like you are a very strong candidate.
and im econ major! but think i will change it to international relationship or something if possible lol i heard academic rigor of UVA is no joke, especially business and econ
so im not sure if i will even possibly be able to catch up other smart guys

Any idea when they will release the results? Or will they release all at once on may 1st?

is anyone else able to log in to UVA collab? and when you press account it lists an email address for you at virginia.edu??

wow this thread blew up in the past couple days! Approximately 28,000 minutes till decisions come out. Having gone through 2012 and 2011 year transfer threads, the ones who received a green check early seem to have been accepted while the ones who received the check early-mid august were waitlisted. Sick cruel joke that’s not funny: what was the name of the woman with one leg?

What do youmean august?

I think he means April.

@transferuva Yes I can as well. I don’t know if we can do it before getting a check.
@inditoy Then what about those people who still get a circle? Haha. I just think that those who got a check earlier probably has a complete profile ready to be read earlier than other. In my view, the date of completing the application matters. And there must be some cases which make uva need more time to think about.

11112013UVA is right, i believe.
the earlier app the earlier green check

@ 11112013UVA and tndud6364: It’s unlikely that there’s a positive relationship between timing of the application submission and timing of getting the green check. I say this because I submitted my application pretty late (before the deadline, of course) and I received the green check what seems to be relatively early. I can’t remember exactly when I received the green check, but I feel like it’s been about 3 weeks now.

i have a green circle still and am able to get into uva collab, so i dont think the check means access to collab.
