Will likely go somewhere else, accepted to a bunch of other schools in engineering with sufficient aid to make the cost comparable.

anyone know what being accepted to pre sciences means? I applied to two departments.
@bigfarts27 Sadly, no direct admission to your major. However, it means you were accepted to the school in hopes that you would declare/go into your major after taking pre-recs at the university.

don’t worry about it though you will have plenty of other acceptances, and you can always transfer to UW!!! best of luck in the meantime, and seriously don’t worry about it to much. I do understand where you’re coming from though. This college process is stressful and some times unfair but don’t let it define you or bring you down. AWESOME THINGS COMING for you no doubt about it!!!

Accepted. Here are my stats for anyone curious.
OOS student.
UW GPA- 3.8 W- 3.9
7 APs, passed all tests with 3 or 4 except the ones I haven’t taken for this May.
SAT (superscored) math- 580 english-740
ACT- 26
Really good essays
Extra curriculars/leadership: Speech and debate manager (similar to a captain); varsity tennis 3 years and captain for the last season; youth group Vice President; Volunteer at retirement home 4 years; member of California scholarship federation; min wage job since sophomore year.
I saw some people with better academics than me get waitlisted or rejected (I am very sorry btw) and they were utterly baffled. I think the only explanation would be something wrong with your essays or a lack in leadership. Hopefully all works out for you guys! Don’t give up!!

For those of us who have been checking reliably but haven’t heard anything yet, do you think the decisions are continuing to roll out as the day goes on? Did you wait until later in the day to check for the first time to see the decision? Or were you checking every 15 minutes and then there was finally a decision?
