To @UWadmissionstaff or anyone who can answer:
I applied for Biology and I want to change to Biochemistry, can I just email the office of admissions?
I understand that Biochemistry is a Direct to admissions thing but I think I’m qualified as I meet all the prerequisites.
Admitted to pre-sciences, going for Neurobiology.
Out of state (California)
GPA 4.0 unweighted, 4.4 cumulative weighted
SAT 1350
ACT 32
Essays okay, nothing outstanding though
Lots of extracurriculars and community service, AP and Honors classes
Did any international students receive their packets yet?
Didn’t get anything in the mail yet (I’m OOS California) but I got an email saying “You’re Invited: Admitted Students Day” and when I clicked on it, it said welcome new huskies or something like that so I’m pretty sure that means accepted. Major is business administration!
@ddeebaa Has your portal been updated? We are OOS in California too; portal updated Friday, got the same “You’re Invited…” today, but still no mail yet :-S
@Sky002 I just logged into the portal and yeah it was updated to say “congratulations” and said that the actual acceptance mail is on the way
My portal updated on Saturday saying that I got in and I still haven’t gotten my mail. I’m so anxious to get it already!
@Tennisboy2022 , no nothing yet
accepted
My son was admitted OOS but not for direct to college. His major is mechanical engineering BUT he was placed in arts and science! What are his chances of getting into the college of engineering? Since we are OOS we don’t want to pay 50k a year if he will never get into his major. Does anyone know the percentage of students that eventually make it into engineering if not admitted direct to that college as a freshmen? So frustrating!
Bump
@Bluedog87 If not accepted as Enigneering Undeclared, the chances of getting into engineering are much lower

Portal showed admission the 1st wave March 10th (3am it popped up) and just got the packet in the mail yesterday
(live about 70 miles from UW)
I applied for computer science but was accepted and assigned to pre sciences. Does anyone know the % of people who complete their pre-reqs through the pre sciences major and apply again for comp sci and are accepted? I’m just scared of going to UW and completing a year of pre reqs just to be rejected from my intended major.

Don’t know if @UWadmissionstaff is still watching topic but we’re feeling a bit forgotten - no portal change, no email, no mail. Not feeling optimistic that tomorrow will be any different and we’ll receive a decision?
I got accepted but I haven’t got any mail yet. I even live in Washington…
It is very frustrating given many have heard via email with no portal update, via portal but no snail mail or email while some have heard via snail mail with no portal or email update. Wondering why some have heard nothing. Any insight would be appreciated @UWadmissionstaff .
