@balletgirl17 I didn’t like that it seemed a little too religious (with crosses everywhere) and that apparently it’s nickname is villanofun because the social life is lacking. I did like the campus, the attractiveness of the student body, the academic appeal and prestige, and the school spirit that is evident on campus.
@DannyPanny thanks so much! those are all very important factors

How will we be informed of the decision? Will it be by email or on the application status page?
I’m pretty sure you are notified on the website! That’s how it has been the previous years
@balletgirl17 A little bit late but whatever: The school clearly has a ton of school spirit to it, but it is more than just with the basketball team (although that is certainly there), but everyone was wearing Villanova stuff which was cool and a lot of them seemed equally excited about the business school being ranked #1 in the country as the basketball team winning the championship. I thought it was a very pretty campus and was all very nice. The only think I don’t know how I feel about is what seems to be a lack of diversity on campus. I think it is important to have a diverse school population, and while Villanova is mindful of the problem, it still exists from what I’ve heard.
@willt31 yep, seems like villanova is tough socially. Oh well, still a good school
@acs116 thank you, this is all super helpful!
Do you find out whether or not you were accepted on the application status page or do you have to make a mynova account and go on that?
They don’t use Mynova anymore for prospective students. You will find out on application status page.
Are results expected today?
If you are referring to legacy having no weight- they tell you that when you tour, or for me at legacy day earlier this year. I attended in November I believe and they said there is no weight.
If you are referring to it being posted in our portal- look at the early action page on Villanovas website and it says so
Any day from now until Jan. 1. Anyone saying they called admissions is correct, admissions does not answer questions like that days prior to acceptances.
Please God let it be today I can’t wait any longer
Legacy absolutely matters at Villanova. If you meet the bar, you are given preference as a legacy.
I have also heard that Legacy helps at Villanova, even for siblings and not just parents. I know someone there now that probably would not have gotten in if her sister wasn’t there. But she was deferred EA, so it could be that legacy doesn’t count during EA (which is the opposite of some schools), which I think is what someone said anyway.
@alli3fire : I concur. We were told pretty explicitly by an admissions officer (not a tour guide or professor or student) that it DOES have some weight on an application.
Legacy/Alumni is a component (Considered), in their common data set…as is level of interest. will see!
Most schools give some preference to Legacy. Two reasons 1) legacy admits often have a higher yield and yield matters in the rankings and 2) you can add the phrase following the word legacy “that are current or potential development candidates.” Most development candidates are legacies.
So if you are legacy that is not a development candidate than you need to make sure you are in category 1…anticipated high yield.
One college that I’m familiar with puts a great number of legacies on the wait list. If the family expresses great interest then they get bumped of the wait list.
@alli3fire it does not matter for EA
