Any Villanova source will tell you that legacy does not matter for EA. It is strictly considered only for regular decision. I have three Villanova alum. and that fact has weighed on me heavily
I disagree. Given 2 seemingly equal candidates for early action, they will give it to the legacy. They say it’s considered and as more than half of their applications come from early action, I’m sure they consider it then as well.
Until this year, Legacy was not considered in EA because EVERYONE who did not get EA was deferred to regular decision. This year is the first time that candidates for EA face the prospect of being rejected at the EA level and not being deferred to regular decision. As a result, legacy is ABSOLUTELY being considered in EA decisions.
You just said twice above that it doesn’t matter for EA and now you say it absolutely matters in all caps. Regardless, I still disagree with your assumption that legacy did not matter before this year. Given two equal candidates, they will give preference to the legacy.
That was my first post, bud. You have me confused with someone else.
Sorry about that, I must have confused you with someone else above with the exact same user name in post 111 and post 119.
I saw that…very weird.
I’d recommend changing your password. I don’t think it’s possible to have the same username in these forums, and those previous posts link to the same profile (and have the same post-statistics, etc.).
My sister’s friend works in admissions, he said early next week.
Really wish it was tonight
@mwood14 - next week!! Why not Christmas Day at this rate. Smh
I know, I’m dying. Of course two of the schools I’m most worried about (Nova and Umich) are taking forever
I’m worrying about Nova and UMich specifically too!! haha @mwood14 because those are the only 2 schools left for me that I’ll hear back from before Christmas (hopefully )
@plaidpants5 me too!!
Fingers crossed for tomorrow!!!
Deferred from northeastern and BC scared out of my mind lol
Just got deferred from first choice BC. Thought having a 33 would get me in…now super nervous for Villanova. A rejection and a deferral in the same week is not making me feel good.
also deferred from BC CSOM 33 ACT…
Deferred Northeastern but accepted CSOM Boston College but I loved Villanova more so I guess we’ll see
Accepted to Northeastern Nursing with a 32 ACT, but I’m still so anxious for Villanova! Is tomorrow likely for EA decisions?
