Official Yale 2009 Transfers!

Here’s the exact email I got (with my name omitted :-D). I’m sure they’re just starting to send out the emails, so everyone keep your fingers crossed! Good news on the horizon!

Dear [Applicant’s Name],

I am delighted to inform you that your admission to Yale College as a transfer student has been approved for September 2009. Congratulations!

Your official admit packet will be mailed to you on Wednesday. It will include a letter from Dean Jill Cutler, a memo telling you the number of credits you have been granted and your specific placement in a Yale College class, an admission Reply Form, and a Transfer Handbook. If you applied for financial aid, the admit packet will include financial aid information as well. We ask that you return the Reply Form to the admissions office no later than May 26.

nice, congratulations ashcricket. I wonder if they would send out rejections through email. Mind posting any of your stats? are you a soph or junior transfer?

OMG, is that real? what’s going on…So those who accepted are notified first?

Sure, no problem.

Transfer: junior
Current School: public, on the lower end of the top 10
College GPA: 4.0
HS GPA (unimportant?): 4.something
SAT: 2400
SAT IIs: 790, 790, 800
APs, IBs: mostly 5s and 7s
ECs: editor of campus newspaper, orchestra&chamber program, some more artsy stuff, nothing flashy at all. I honestly thought my ECs were so generic that I wouldn’t have a chance!

I called the office…they say it would be sent on 13th and no e-mail has been sent…

wow, ashcricket, I would’ve been surprised if you were not accepted.

Beats me! All I know is that I got the email, have no idea when it was supposed to be sent. If the office said the 13th, then the 13th. Keep your hopes up!

ashcricket, what major are you going for?

“When and how will I find out my admissions decision?
Candidates will be notified of their admissions decision in mid May via both email and postal mail. Mailed letters will be sent to the address which you provide under Home Address on Form 1.”
-quoted from Yale’s website for those who are still confused whether email notifications will be sent or not
Congrats Ashcricket! WOW! I don’t get though why they sent ur decision today…

I am so losing hope right now!! Does this mean tht acceptances are out already and rejections are for May 13th?!OMG I soooo hope this is not true!!I’m so not getting in!!I’m a freshman rejectee!!

ashcricket: what were your reasons for transfer to Yale?

ivyconfidential: they said no email has been sent even tho ashcricket received one??!

I feel like he was just fooling around with us. keep your hopes high everybody

or a one of a kind brain to have perfect EVERYTHING…
but if it is like this … CONGRATULATIONS

Hey guys

Don’t lose hope yet. The same thing happened at UChicago. Uchicago sent out admission letters before the time they were due. Afterwards, they replied all applicants saying it was a mistake. Besides, it is not strange for people to post false acceptances on CC, no offense Ashcricket. I’m just saying that we don’t know anything for sure yet. The ideal day for receiving decisions is may 13. So until then, keep your hopes up. Hope for the best to get the best.

Sincerely,
TransferAccepted

Transfer Accepted did you already got in to one school?

Yeah. I got into UChicago, but I want to go to Yale

Wow that´s awsomeeee
I hope you get in… and if I get in, I choose you to be my psychologist…
Even if my major is psychology hahaha

haha, thanks.

I truly hope that I and many of us get admitted
