Official Yale 2009 Transfers!

^
Saturday moring?? are you sure? cuz last yr May 15 was Thursday. and this yr will be Friday. and is it possible that the admission officers still work on saturday?

Is anyone certain of the date when the admission decisions are sent via email?

Hi everyone!

I was accepted to Yale as a transfer last year, and I remember getting an email during finals period. I think it was the end of April or the beginning of May. Either way, you still have several weeks until you should start obsessively checking your inbox :-)

Also, if any of you have specific questions about Yale (organizations, majors, social life, life as a transfer, etc.), feel free to send me a message. We have a very active and close-knit group of transfers here at Yale, and if I can’t answer your question I’ll forward it on to someone who can. But please PLEASE don’t send me any “what are my chances” or “what do you think of my essays/gpa/extracurriculars” questions. I have no idea “what the Yale adcom is looking for”, and any answer I gave would be pretty much useless :-)

Good luck everyone!

hi Speakout

First of all, congratulations on getting admitted. Secondly, how does Yale add the credits from your old school to your Yale official transcript? Are all of your classes added to your Yale transcript or are some of them omitted? Please reply as soon as you can.

Sincerely,
TransferAccepted

I feel like my blackberry (or if you guys have iphones) would obviate any potential suspense that frantic checking of my email via computer would procure. I’ll probably end up seeing the email accidentally on my phone during lecture or something stupid like that.

What are the reasons you guys are transferring from your current school?

From the 08-09 data set. I saw that 751 people applied for transfer admission and they admitted 24, 15 male applicants, 9 female applicants, all of them enrolled indicating that there is probably no need for waitlists. This is so not encouraging.

u are rite chrisjah.
Dont hold breath on it yet hope for the best though.
anyone has received the email notification of all the credentials has being received by the admission office yet? I havent… :(

Hi guys

I don’t think anyone has received the application materials email. Although I did receive the email telling me that Yale has received my application, and if there are any missing materials the admissions office would contact me. That’s about all I got. You guys shouldn’t give up yet. Keep your hopes alive and strong. We can all hope that we will get into Yale, so there is no reason to give up on our chances now–no matter how “crapshoot-ty”–they may be. We should all be positive, and imagine the delight that will appear on our faces when we see our admission emails.

Sincerely,
TransferAccepted

I’ve got nothing so far…Geeez…:(

Hey, I recieved an email this afternoon from them notifying me my college transcript was missing. Apparently my college sent it to the wrong p.o. box but I re-sent it this evening so all is not lost yet :)

just checked my email. i just got the missing document email from yale. they dont have my transcript on file, despite the fact that i mistakenly asked it to be sent to them twice. I dont how this would impact my application, ohwell i scared as hell!! lol. did anyone receive this email? i guess if you dont it means you are fine then. Gosh!! why should it be me! lol

haha Guys, my transcript is missing too!

ok. maybe the admissions office is trying to play some kinda prank. just teasing lol. am gonna have to get it sent to them asap

rdude88, chrisjah, and stewartudall - was that the first notification each of you received from Yale? Did you also receive an email on the receipt of your application beforehand?

Like gobackto2005, I’m still waiting to hear something…

Jrr, I received the receipt from Yale a while ago, this was the first notification I received from Yale. Man did I rush over to the registrar to get that bad boy re-sent haha

I got an e-mail from Yale earlier this morning, titled “Transfer Application Complete.” The content is the following:

“We are writing to acknowledge receipt of the admissions documents needed to review your transfer application to Yale. We assume that we will receive, or have already received, official copies of your standardized test scores. If you requested that the testing agency report your scores to Yale, you should assume that we have them. The admissions staff will review your application in the upcoming weeks and admissions decisions will be rendered in mid-May.”

Ugh another month of waiting…

EDIT: I received an e-mail like a month ago acknowledging that they received my transfer application.

Just received mine today. This is the second email that i am receiving from them, the first was that my application had been received like stewartudall. am going to send mine tomorrow.

no receipt yet no notification…
desperate now…crying

gobackto2005, I haven’t received any other notifications apart from the “application received” acknowledgment. Hope this helps you panic less
