Official Yale 2009 Transfers!

Thanks Transfer Accpeted.
when did u submit ur application? I didnt receive any receipt but yale deduct application fee from my bank account…so I’m sure they had my enclosed check.

Jrrrmph, this is the second email I received from them. The first one was confirmation of receiving my application back in the last two weeks of march.

Thanks everybody. I guess I’ll just wait this one out just a little bit longer. Que sera sera, dudes.

jrr, same here. Im waiting with you.

gobackto2005

I submitted my application three days before the deadline. If Yale took money from your bank account, I’m sure you have nothing to worry about. If you want to confirm your application status, just call the admissions office. Don’t give up. Be motivated by the awe and effervescence that would appear on your face when you find out that you got admitted. This goes for everybody. Don’t give up guys.

Sincerely,
TransferAccepted

thx again transferaccepted. you really cheered me up.
I’d better to wait peacefully here cuz yale use the paper application, even if I call the admission office, they wont find out my application from tons of the documents pile immediately.
wish u best, oh no, us. ;)

Well the thing is, I don’t want to bother the admissions office when they’re busy and come off as desperate. I just hope something positive happens though.

gobackto2005

I’m glad to raise your spirits at anytime. I don’t think it would be that difficult for the admission committee to find your application. There’s between 700 to 800 applications. It never hurts to try. Try to call them and see what happens. nothing could be worse than not getting your application reviewed. So try calling them and see what happens. I hope we all get in. The most we can do now is to keep hoping. Never give up on your aspirations. Hopefully, this will be a year for all of us to remember.

Sincerely

I received my confirmation yesterday around 11:00am. The first email was in mid-march. I was checking last year’s transfer decisions and everybody who applied to Yale reported their status around March 13 (and beyond). Last year, there was a deadline extension for the transfer applicants at Yale. Maybe we will get it sooner? I really have no idea but I want the wait to be over lol… Anyways, I hope to see you all at Yale next year. Be positive, becoming doom and gloom about Yale doesn’t really do anything for the cause.

Much love and peace,

Jemma

hey I just called yale admission office and transfered my calling to an assistant. she found out my application within thirty seconds and told me my application is complete. what a relief! but even though I know my application is complete now I am afraid not receiving any email is a bad sign…

Thank you so much for that gbt2005. I figured that was the case, but I just wasn’t sure. As for not receiving an email - I wouldn’t worry about that at all (I’m sure they haven’t even begun distinguishing or reading applications yet).

So it’s safe to say that Yale doesn’t send all the application confirmation emails at the same time. Does this mean that they won’t send the admission emails at the same time?

probably not. I went throught the official yale thread for last year, and it seemed that everyone got the email decision on May13, whether being accepted or not.

Hi guys

In exactly one month from now, we will know our admission decisions by email. Then, we will receive them in the mail, hopefully they are acceptance letters. It goes without saying that the adcoms have probably started reviewing our applications. Let’s not give up on our chances yet. Never say die until the bones are rotten. We are all probably capable of getting into Yale. I hope to get into Yale and meet you guys there. Anything is possible if you try. Try to keep your hopes alive, and you will hopefully experience an amalgamation of extreme joy and achievement after seeing the words “congratulations” on your admission letter. Never give up people.

Sincerely,
TransferAccepted

im thinking about applying to yale as a junior transfer this fall for economics. right now ive finished macro and micro econ, 2 quarters of calculus, and a year of accounting. My gpa is somewhere around 3.85-3.9. I have a few ec’s, my hs gpa was around 3.5-3.6 with a few ap’s , and my SAT was 1580 out of 2400 (i know it sucks) and my act was 28. Im also transferring from a community college in california.

should i even waste my time for yale?

If you feel like you could be that one community college student who gets into Yale every year, then I’d say go for it. Otherwise, I think not having a 4.0 could keep you back.

they only take 1 community college transfer student every year?

If that…

Hi Captain,

I don’t think that the definitive factor of all admitted applicant is a gpa of 4.0. I’m sure that Yale has other qualities that they look for. On the Yale transfer site, it states that the admitted applicants have gpa’s of 3.8 or higher. Point being you should not give up on yourself yet, and try to see what happens.

Sincerely,
TransferAccepted

He’s at a community college though, don’t forget that. Hence, his SAT’s show no indication of rigorous coursework. It’s one thing to be hopeful, but it’s quite another to just waste time.

Plus, he never applied yet…it’s better to hope with other places I would say.
