Congrats everyone! i just found out i got in too! However, now I need to decide whether I want to go to Davis or UCSD. Davis is so much closer to home but UCSD will be such a new experience. Anyway, about the SIR. Is it ok to submit my SIR for UCSD today and then possibly not go? The UCSD SIR says this:

"I accept this offer of admission to UC San Diego and I intend to register for Fall Quarter 2009. I understand that I may accept admission to only one campus of the University of California; returning more than one offer may jeopardize my enrollment opportunities. "

Do you think it’s going to affect me if I SIR and end up not going to a campus? I really want to visit Davis this weekend since I have no idea how it’s like there.

lawl my browser’s history took me to the appeal website and it said something like “only non-admitted students may view this page”
I was like ***? Then I clicked on homepage and GOT IN!
UCD here I come!

the facebook group for davis admissions says that it could take up until tomorrow for the results to get back, but we have a week to decide (for davis)

I have another question. How is housing going to work if I submit my SIR after the May 1st deadline? Will i still get housing? And if i do, will I be getting what’s left?

Yeah they dont send out housing offers until like mid may. You cant even request it yet. But it does seem like a lot of people are getting in under appeals. It seems that the ones for finacial problems and the need to be close for sick relatives are the two top reasons for appeals granted. But I also think that maybe they never saw many of our apps because of the point system… But congrats to all! We will have to form our own little group.

For those who have not heard yet, if you still haven’t heard at 3pm I would call them and ask about it. other than that people who sent their appeal in after me found out before me. It does not mean that you didn’t get in, just that yours is going slow. I have no idea why it is this way!

Luanme: Go to your majors website and look up the courses at each UC and see which school has the most that appeal to you. Thats how I decided. UCD has all the classes I want. It does not really matter about the program, just which one has the most classes you want.

Sorry to hear you got a rejection Sunset. But you can always transfer over if it is really the school you want. Maybe you will be happier where your planning on going!
