i took the november SAT subject tests and did horrible on them. mid 600s....i told penn on my apps that i would send them in...do i still have to? i mean i HAVE TWO subject tests sent already... :/

80 views and no response? guys please...need some advice here!

I have no idea. Call them, i guess.

If they only require 2 then NO don't send them unless they request them personally which they won't because I don't think they specify which 2 you had to take. No need to send them more than they need unless it works in your favor.

even if i indicated on the common apps that i'll be rushing them in?

dont send it

Don't think they will have the manpower to notice that...and if they don't notice the discrepancy they will probably just work with your current SAT II scores.

my GC said to send them....well i'm kinda doubtful of the way she thinks.

final question: will mid 600s SAT IIs make me look BAD?

which subject?

i took 2 and both were in that range...USH and Math II. i feel simply stupid about USH b/c i thought there were 50 questions when there were 90 and so i ended up rushing through almost half of the test in like 10 minutes...but there's nothin i can do about it. so this time, my USH score is actually 10 pts lower than the first time i took it. i already have 2 sent to Penn (USH and chinese)

i wouldnt' send them in if i were you..but then again...you are in a difficult situation. If they dont' ask for it, dont' send it in. cuz i think it'll hurt you more. what major are you applying for?

i'm undeclared major........i'm not quite sure what i wanna major in yet.

lol my GC's like, "it's pretty good! go 'head!" :/
anything below 700 is horrible for a school like Penn.

i'm leaning towards not sending them b/c they already have 2 subject test scores anyways.......i feel like my SAT IIs are what's bringin me down....

anyone else?

are you applying to cas? like certain majors want math scores...but since you already have two, just keep them at two. sending more in won't help you if they are lower cuz penn only consider the top two scores anyways. yeah...don't listen to your counselor on that one...

yea i'm applying to CAS.

don't send it, mid-600's is pretty sub-par for Penn.

Can anyone confirm that Penn only looks at the top 2? I have an 800 in Chem, 790 in Physics, 790 in Math II, and 650 in US history, and 530 in Latin (I think they'll ignore the Latin test since I explained that I took the test as part of a competition that I was invited to participate in early into Latin 2, which is much to early to be taking a subject test).

I specifically asked the admission officer. more than one too

oh okay then...thanks soysauce!

no problem

sry to bring this dead thread back up again but Penn picks the two highest SAT II scores right? my Nov math II is actually a little higher (20 pts lol) than the USH score that Penn ALREADY has (the other one is 800). i guess that wouldn't make any difference would it?
