THANKS FOR THE HELP

Everything but her SAT scores looks great. Though UVa doesn't place a lot of empasis on SAT scores it will probably stand out that her scores are so low. If she could bring her SAT scores up a bit I think she'd have a great chance considering her good rank and gpa.

I don't have a chance to bring up my SATs. I've already submitted my Early Decision app.........Are they really going to keep me out? Do you think UVA will let them tarnish my good GPA and other stuff?

Yes. The SAT scores are too low.

Well, the SATs are low. Also, you list two APs. Are those the only APs that your school offers? Does your school offer an AP diploma? Did you take any APs junior year?

If your strength of schedule is significantly below others in your high school, then this will be the deciding factor--even if their GPA is lower than yours. UVA likes applicants who challenge themselves.

you might be able to take them again and rush the scores. this could help especially if you get deferred to spring

I transferred to my current high school in my junior year. My old high school didn't have AP classes, so that is the reason I have so few.
I have missed the deadline for the November SATs, and UVA had already told me that they wouldn't accept them rushed. They wouldn't come out until the end of November, which is when UVA notifies. So, basically I'm screwed.

BritishSam, don't worry about SAT's too much if you cant take them anymore. I got accepted into UVA last year with a score of 1190 on the old scale, but then again I was applying to the e-school, so I don't know if that has an effect on our chances in getting into UVA.

I'd say try to raise your gpa, so that you're in the top 5% of your class since it seems like everyone UVA accepted last year from my school were in the top 5% of the class.

Not really. You'll likely be deferred to RD. If you can get your scores up significantly, you'll stand a better chance.

If you don't mind, can you all tell me what you got on your SATs?
I'd like to see the profiles of people who got in.

I got a 1550 (800v/750m). I was the valedictorian of my class and a varsity athlete (track - sprinter). I had solid involvement in various clubs and musical groups (drummer/percussionist), as well as a position as a full-time intern at a local law firm for two summers.
