I'm a freshman and I took the old SATs back in 7th grade. I (some how), pulled a 1440. Can I use this for admissions?

It's not that I'm too lazy to take the new ones, but I really stink at long tests (the new one is 4 hours+?). I have absolutely zero test taking stamina, so I'm afraid more score is going to go down from 7th grade (as dumb as that sounds :)).

No, you can't use it for admissions. Colleges require SATs from junior or senior year. in addition, colleges are requiring the new SAT for students in h.s. graduating classses after 2007. Some already are requiring the new SAT for the 2006 class.

S was afraid of taking the new SAT for similar reasons to yours. To his surprise, his v, m score went up a total of 100 points on the new SAT, placing him in the 99th percentile for v, m. He had taken the old SAT in Jan., new one in May.

The College Board also doesn't keep records of 7th and 8th grade SATs.

I was talking to one of the Yale admissions officers and he said that I could use my old SAT from last yr (I'm a junior right now). However, since that's way sooner than 7th grade, it's different. But if I were you, I would definitely take them again. Honestly, if you could pull that in 7th grade, you wouldn't be too far off a 2400 now with a bit of studying.

Now that you've started high school, your 1440 has been erased from your record unless you specifically asked for it to remain there. Also, like Northstarmom said, you will have to take the new SAT anyway, so the old score wouldn't have accomplished anything

Anyway, for virtually everyone, their middle school SAT scores will be much lower than their 11th and 12th grade ones. That's because of their more advanced coursework in high school and because they will have read and experienced more things, which will expand their vocabulary and critical reading skills.
